Trying to ID a show John Hiatt/Wilco Newport Folk Festival?

Recommended Posts

I have had this show in my iTunes from even before I became a HUGE fan of Wilco.

I do not know the lineage and the CD came without any info or tas on it.

If anyone has info on it I would be appreciate.

It has 15 tracks (not sure if this is complete)

I guess it is this show:

http://www.wilcobase...p?event_key=617

1. James Alley Blues

2. Forget The Flowers

3. When You Wake Up Feeling Old

4. She's A Jar

5. A Shot In The Arm

6. Misunderstood

7. Hesitating Beauty

8. Christ For President

9. New Madrid

10. California Stars

Except the tracks I have are (not necessarily in the correct order)

James Alley Blues

Christ For President

Forget The Flowers

Hesitating Beauty

New Madrid

She's A Jar

When The Roses Bloom Again

California Stars

When The Roses Bloom Again is not listed in the above setlist from Newport

And 7 untagged John Hiatt tracks

But my tracks are not in the same order? Also, if someone has a complete setlist, including the John Hiatt material so I can properly tag this, that would be great. I looked at etree, but did not see a listing there either.

Thanks,

Henry

The Wilco shows for 1999 at db.etree.org.

I don't think it is listed there, and I have never heard of it. It could be some other show. And, it could be that someone gave you a mixture of various songs from various Wilco shows.

I would look at the shows where James Alley Blues was played, and go from there. Although, if it is a mix of various shows, that is not going to help you that much.

I think John hosted Sessions At W. 54th Street when they did the show - if that helps you any.

I would say it is from one show, the quality and sound are the same from track to track and if I burn it DAO it is a continuous show.

(Btw, it is quite a good recording, probably a SB. Is it possible to put sample up here? I believe not)

Interesting. There is no mention of it at db.etree.org. It just seems odd to me that someone would send around a cd with the tracks out of order and with another artist stuck on the same cd. It could be that it came from the cassette era, when those sort of things were more common.

You have a mystery there.
