Going to Clearwater show?

My girl and I are going next Tuesday, and are going to see them for the 1st time! What is going on before the show? We are driving from Melbourne (about a 2 1/2 hour drive) and will be in early afternoon. Suggestions? Bob

I believe there is a Hooters restaraunt is just a few miles a way from Ruth Eckerd Hall on Gulf-to-Bay Blvd.

You could probably talk your girl into going since the location has a "historical significance" - it was the very first Hooters - before it became a chain.

I think Jeff himself might be interested as well. The last time he performed in Tampa, he asked the crowd if this is the place where they shoot the Girls Gone Wild videos.

there is a freaking delicious italian place at the light after ruth eckerd, take a left (going west) and it is a few blocks down that road on the left. It is a little family place and I cant recall the name of it. It is really good though.

Italian place = johnny's on Coachman. Solid, not great, but fairly good.

 

hooter's = the original on gulf to bay (sr 60). It's much like any other Hooter's, but I still like.

 

we're going to the Whistlestop. Don't come. Service is slow and it'll slow us down (some of us have to work!)

 

Clearwater (not downtown, more outter) really not a place known for great food. Go for fun, not food (thus the original Hooter's, or Pete and Shorty's next door, is really my best rec.).

 

Aftershow. Cool and close = Brewgarden. Cheap and close = Applebee's (2 for 1 , aftershow happy hour- less than 1 mile from the exit).

 

Spring training is in town. Go to Brighthouse Field for a ball game.

 

YOOOOOOOOOO, for my advice, please request Spiders for my husband, SCOTT LONG, it's his birthday.

So I started this thread, and my start seems to be gone.

 

I'm a HUGE Wilco fan. I drag my husband, Scott, all over to see Wilco. Tuesday they are playing 4 miles from our house ON HIS BIRTHDAY.

 

He's not really a fan. I am. He loves Spiders. Really he loves it all, he just won't admit it. But when I take my buddy who loves Casino Queen, they play Spiders. And when I take my husband, they play Casino Queen.

 

So please request Spiders for Scott. He says, "It's tax season. Spiders fill out tax returns." He's nothing if not factual.

 

So there ya go!

First time poster. Hello!

 

I saw WILCO last time they were in Tampa. Absolutely amazing and I can't wait to see them again. The acoustic set they did at last night's show in Miami sounds awesome.

We are heading out now. We just watched a video of Big star doing 'Thank You Friends' from last year. So excited. We were excited for 'An Evening With...' in Royal Oak but the vibe for this is higher. Then the ATL Friday.
