Guest Speed Racer
Wow, after reading these articles, you definitely know the population of HPHS much better than one of its employees. I was wrong about you, D-Dogg. So wrong. "I also feel strongly about young women's rights," And today we find out that it is also a right of female minors to play basketball in any state that suits their whimsy. Good Old Neon
Pretty much yeah I am. Being on plenty of traveling sports teams, I have never nor has my teammates ever been happy about a canceled trip. We would for sure be super pissed if it was due to political games played by adults. Have you even considered the possibility that the students/players were in favor of canceling the trip for political reasons? Teenagers especially can be very idealistic, and I would not be a bit surprised if they championed and/or played a role in the decision to stay the hell away from AZ – which, though the scenery is nice, is just way too fucking hot anyway. The one time I was there it was 110 degrees…at 2 in the morning.
Guest Jules
Parents always overreact to these things. They just want their kids out of the house for a few days. D-Dogg
Cite the law, please. And, how does one tell if someone is a citizen or visitor? You ask them. Just like they ask you when you apply for a fucking job, or credit card, or membership to Blockbuster. On the Green Card itself it states you must carry this on you at all times to prove status. D-Dogg
I was wrong about you, D-Dogg. So wrong. Most people are, wanna make out on cam? No one goes to Blockbuster anymore. I know, that was the joke. The third example is the punchline.
Guest Speed Racer
Rarely do they give a shit. How much did you pay for that insight? Especially when it prevents them from going on a trip. But they ARE going on a trip.

I don’t know, based on my experience, teens are often very idealistic – probably a result of not yet reaching adulthood and all the daily little compromises associated with it, adulthood. You'll see, just wait until you turn 13.
bleedorange
Well geez, not the one I'm looking at right now. Is this really a question? USCIS - After a Green Card is Granted A green card is issued to all permanent residents as proof that they are authorized to live and work in the United States. If you are a permanent resident age 18 or older, you are required to have a valid green card in your possession at all times. Current green cards are valid for 10 years, or 2 years in the case of a conditional resident, and must be renewed before the card expires.

On the Green Card itself it states you must carry this on you at all times to prove status. OK - two scenarios for you: Officer: I have a reasonable suspicision that you're an illegal alien. Please prove you're not by producing your green card.Citizen: Huh? I'm a U.S. citizen. I'm just out for a walk, and didn't bring my wallet with me.Officer: You're under arrest. Guest Speed Racer
Is this really a question? That is not the face of the card. On the face of the card, it says, "Made in the USA" and "US Patents ____ apply."

Guest Speed Racer
You asked if it was really a question that it stated that on the face of the documents. I replied no, because it doesn't state that. Most people I know do not carry the documents with them at all times, though they are strongly advised to. Their lives are a lot easier if they do, but let's face it: grocery store, out for a jog, bike riding with the kids - do any of you take your passport evidencing your citizenship? Guest Speed Racer
Of course. So, you only call people liars when they have first-hand knowledge of something. You know that's backwards, right?

Guest Speed Racer
Here's a link to the regs. Both should be easy to find, considering they are so widely enforced and discussed.

Sorry, I shouldn't have hit reply to that particular post. Of course, the link to the USCIS spells out the requirement, so I thought it was fairly self-explanatory, regardless of whether it is on the card. I don't need to. I'm a citizen. Then again, I do usually have my wallet with me, except for walks through the neighborhood. Who goes to a grocery store without their wallet, purse, etc.?

Guest Speed Racer
Who goes to a grocery store without their wallet, purse, etc.? When my girlfriend drives, I'll occasionally just grab some cash. Who goes for a run with their passport on them? What about adults without passports? How do they evidence their citizenship if their birth certificate and social security card are the two documents that indicate that AND the two documents you are advised to NOT keep on your person? bjorn_skurj
Here's what a friend of mine posted on FB: "When trying to patiently explain to someone what the problem with this law was, I said, 'I am sure if I head to Arizona to play golf, there's virtually no chance I'll get stopped and accused of being an 'undocumented Irishman.'" The light bulb finally started to flicker...."

But due to high illegal immigration from our southern friends, Arizona is having problems with Drug trafficking (not just teenagers but Drug Cartels), kidnappings (second highest in the world - only second to um Mexico City) home invasions. Guest Speed Racer
I've heard that one thrown around a lot - the kidnapping statistic. Do you have a source you can cite?
