PopTodd
I was out at a bar last night and they had Jango pumping through the house speakers. I was really digging it and enjoying whatever folks were putting up... as well as the Toots & The Maytalls channel that I had going for a while. It's essentially a Pandora-like site; same basic idea: plug in an artist's name and hear their music, plus other bands that have a similar sound/feel. I think that I like it better than Pandora, though. Just a friendlier design, methinks.Anyone use it? What do you think?
brianjeremy
Hey, I tried Jango this afternoon. It's actually pretty cool. I like it a lot better than Pandora so far. I always use Pandora at work but this could be a great replacement.
uncool2pillow
Tell me why you like it better than Pandora. I just signed up. I find the interface very busy. Lots of links, but little useful information right up front. We'll see how it turns out, but for now I favor Pandora.
Moss
Shhhhh, don't talk about it or they'll ban it here at work like they did Pandora!

brianjeremy
I dunno, Pandora seems all over the place to me. For one thing, Pandora is not banned at work, which is nice but it makes some of the weirdest selections. For example I type in Sebadoh, it'll play some lo-fi sounding indie rock, then some main stream type stuff and then Limp Bizkit or Nickleback. I want the furthest thing from those two bands and I'll be damned within a 5-10 song spread if they're not playing something like that. Using Jango yesterday, using the same parameters, they played Sebadoh>GBV>Smog>Elliott Smith>Beck>Silver Jews>Stephen Malkmus>Pavement>Yo La Tengo>GBV>paid advert song>Silver Jews>Modest Mouse>Yo La Tengo>The Halo Benders and so on. OUt of all of those songs they played just one song that didn't belong:it asked me to vote on it to see if it would make it on the radio. After I voted "no," it let me pick which band I wanted to hear next. Which, to me is pretty sweet. Plus it gives you the choice to not play artists on your created stations, which is great.
