LouieB
The Baby Huey Story album is crazy good, if a bit drug addled. Great stuff. LouieB
Synthesizer Patel
i'm not that much of a fan of the baby huey album, it's ok, but it's a little lacking in depth - or something - it just doesn't have whatever a great album needs to make you keep going back to it. now that this is all soul, funk etc... music, i'm gonna add thisalice clark - it's a fantastic album
Synthesizer Patel
let's have another alice clark seeing as how it made me put on the album: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwSRxyWQO2I

GtrPlyr
A few months back I picked up Alice Clark's "The Complete Studio Recordings 1968-1972," great stuff! I've been listening to the Fugi disc Mary, Don't Take Me On No Bad Trip quite a bit lately. If you're into funk/psychedelic-soul music I highly recommend it. Lots of great songs including the original version of "I'd Rather Be a Blind Man" that Etta James remade as "I'd Rather Go Blind." http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZ3y0p9uOTU
Synthesizer Patel
i downloaded that Fugi album a while ago, when i saw you mention it in the nowplaying thread. it's pretty good, a few of the tracks are a little too unfocused, but mainly it's really good stuff. so, clarence carter has already been mentioned - here's one of my favourites of his:
GtrPlyr
^ That Clarence video wouldn't play for me, some copyright message popped up. Expanding the scope of this thread even more, here's some 60s R&B from the wonderful Barbara Lynn: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jAnSyQA_fT4
