CalebMac
Based on this video, Jeff is playing this song with his guitar tuned down 1 whole step from drop-D, so CGCFAD. The verse alternates between 004232 and 020032. On the "hot or cold, heart of gold" he's playing an Em (222000). The Chorus is 004232 | x02220 | 222000 | then he plays a form of G. I play it x20003 or 555000. http://vimeo.com/27924880
chisoxjtrain
You are correct. I'm just too lazy to update it.
anthony
I think there is one chord after the Em in the verses before it starts over. Second time only?
anthony
Like this, I think: D D6 I been young, I been old D D6 I been hurt and consoled Em C Heart of cold, heart of gold - so I'm told D D6 I been lost, I been found D D6 I been taken by the sound of Em G C my own voice Voices in my head D A Em G I can't help it if I fall in D A Em G love with you again I'm calling D A Em G just to let you know it dawned on me Damn thinks don't line up well, but I think there is a G (020030) at "my own voice Voices in my head" between the Em and C. This occurs only in the second half of the verse.

choo-choo-charlie
On the Tiny Desk concert, Jeff's playing in the usual whole-step down tuning, and Pat's playing second rhythm in standard tuning. Works well.
Andrew McKean
Has anyone tabbed out the fingerpicking part in the St. Louis Magazine Video (at 2:09 here: http://stereogum.com/786622/wilco-dawned-on-me-live-video/news/) After three hours staring at it, I have a little bit figured out but honestly have no idea what he is doing. Some help would be awesome!
Andrew McKean
This seems to be the most complete tab around. Also has the riff that Jeff plays at the end of this (http://stereogum.com...ve-video/news/)) video. Enjoy. *Note: the chords seem to not line up with the words. it shouldn't be to hard to figure out after a couple listens but if there are any questions just let me know. Dawned on MeDrop C (CGCFAD) All chords relative to tuning. Pat plays almost the same chords but in standard tuning (C, F, Dm, G). anthony
I think the key to the song is the little alternating D-D6 in the verses; something like this: D-D6 Riff e|2-2-2-x2-2-2-x2-2-2-| B|3-3-3-x3-3-3-x3-3-3-| G|2-2-2--2-2-2--2-2-2-| D|4-4-4--4-4-4--4-4-4-| A|------2------2------| D|xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx|
Andrew McKean
You're correct except that second chord is a Gmaj7/D and is the same chord I show in the tab.
