u2roolz
*I'm sure most of you saw this on Wilco's FB page today. Anyways, hopefully your state or city is listed. I'm shocked by how many stores in Maine have this tonight, but Bull Moose is an awesome indie store. I'll be going to the one in Salem, NH tonight anyways. Now this makes me more excited. They know that I'm a huge Wilco fan, so if it's not a big turnout I may get more goodies than normal. In anticipation of the September 27th release of their powerful new album The Whole Love, celebrated Chicago rock ‘n’ roll band Wilco have organized a series of listening parties at independent record stores throughout the nation. The events will occur on September 26 and 27th and feature band related giveaways including signed posters, Wilco tote bags and limited edition clear pressings of the group’s new single “I Might.” Check the below list for the participating record store in your neighborhood.“The Whole Love” is the sound of a veteran band rejuvenated.” – LA Times Wilco Listening Party Locations:(*Events on 9-26 unless otherwise noted)Boo Boo 7pm 978 Monterey Street San Luis Obispo CABull Moose midnight 151 Main St Brunswick MEBull Moose midnight 771 Roosevelt Trail Windham Shopping Center, North Windham MEBull Moose midnight 151 Middle St Portland ME0Bull Moose midnight 20 East Ave. Lewiston ME0Bull Moose midnight 82-86 Congress St. Portsmouth NHBull Moose midnight 1364 Main St. Sanford MEBull Moose midnight 14 Elm Plaza Waterville MEBull Moose midnight 683 Hogan Rd. Autumnteeth
Waiting to get in Reckless in Chicago as I type. Will let everyone know. Maine seems to be a Wilco witness protection area, by the way, cant believe the number of venues.
u2roolz
Well, it wasn't technically a listening party at the Bull Moose Records in Salem, NH a couple of hours ago. I think they were playing the new Blink 182 (God, I never thought I'd say that again...bleh). Anyways, out of the 15 or so people in line 2 of us were picking up The Whole Love. The extremely nice record store clerk told us that we were going to have to fight it out over the 2 giveaway items. He brought us the I Might Solid Sound vinyl single and a poster tube. The guy in front of me grabbed the vinyl without asking me and I quickly told him that I was happy that he grabbed that because I already own what he took. He asked me where and when I got it and I told him about the festival. Then I pointed him to the Solid Sound sticker on the vinyl. Anyways, here is the poster that I am definitely going to frame. This looks pretty legit to me. I'm pretty sure that it is actually signed by the band (no shit) and that this isn't some reprint. I can feel the signature.
