Albert Tatlock
Finally my copy arrived. Which bits have been messing with your mind in super stereo? Right now I'm absolutely knocked out by all that's going on during Dawned On Me - castanets! The silky smooth transition from vocals to guitar at 1:46. Love the 'flub' at 0:06 on I Might. In general I'm loving the backing vocals that are a most welcome feature of the album.More to follow as I listen, maybe. P.S. Thanks for all the extra time at the coalface Mr. Sansone
Ghost of Electricity
P.S. Thanks for all the extra time at the coalface Mr. SansoneYup. I think many people (myself included) are going to have to start showing a lot more love for this guy.
sonicshoulder
Yup. I think many people (myself included) are going to have to start showing a lot more love for this guy.Saw em twice live last week. John looks like there is truly nothing else in the world he'd rather be doing when he is singing that "do do do doot" in I Might.
junkiesmile
I'm ashamed to say I've had TWL on vinyl since before the release date and I just now got around to listening to OSM through headphones. Amazing. Just beautiful. Amazing.
craigwinn
The backing vocals are gorgeous, you can really hear the layers in headphones. And to me it also seems like Jeff's vocals have been done more "fully" or expansively, with a bit more echo, rather than the usual intimate, he's-singing-directly-into-your-ear style used on previous records. It's nice. Also love the way he sings "Born Alone" dropping down low on "flattered by fate" etc
