bböp
Just cross-posting from Wilco's Facebook page because it was annoying me that there was no thread for this gig yet. I wasn't there, so I can't offer any reports, but judging purely from the setlist, it looks like a WAY better show than last time in Spokane... Seems like a very fun encore! I wonder if the shirtless roadie struck again...? I know at least a couple of Poets who can offer some more insights on this one, so hopefully one or both will chime in once they get back to the old homestead. Here is the setlist "Wilco" posted on its FB page (yes, they have Heavy Metal Drummer and Always In Love on the same line, so I'm not sure if that was an either/or situation on the printed setlist; I'm guessing that both got played, but I obviously can't say for sure): Art Of AlmostI MightI Am Trying to Break Your HeartOne WingAt least that's what you saidBlack MoonSide with the SeedsBorn AloneVia ChicagoImpossible GermanyWhole LoveHeavy Metal DrummerAlways In LoveJesus, etc.War On WarBox Full Of LettersDawned On MeShot in the Arm--Handshake DrugsCandy FlossStanding OMisunderstoodMondayOuttasite (Outta Mind)Hoodoo Voodoo
Magnetized
Thank you, Paul! It was driving me nuts that there wasn't a thread, too. I almost started one that just said Spokane--WTF?
kev59
Newbie here... The show was so fine. I liked the last show in Spokane too, but I had my kids with me so I was a bit distracted. Wilco seems to like Spokane which is cool.Looked a little vacant in the beginning, but seemed to fill up. Not sure if it ever sold out.I "star struck" so I don't remember the exact set but some highlights for me were: The whole showSome sort of Nels Cline "thunder/lighting strike", twice, during (I think) I am trying to break your heart. All new whole love materialShot in the arm encoreLighting designJeff saying "Thank you for standing" and then singling out one person in the very front that was sitting. Epic encore, unending and brilliant, loved the Being there trio, especially Monday, then Outtasite (Outta Mind).Hoodoo Voodoo guitar "dual" - awesome and fun plus new cowbell band member...very surprising, and so fun! mltb
Shirtless (well, wearing a wife-beater) roadie did indeed strike again on Hoodoo Voodoo and was incredibly awesome. So was the back and forth between Pat and Nels on the same song. The biggest highlight for me was Via Chicago straight into Impossible Germany. My two favorite songs. The encore was relentless in the most incredible way. Stellar performance. And Seattle was pretty great, too!
mdpoet
Thanks P for getting on here and starting this thread. Been meaning to chime in and finally got a chance. Nice to see the crowd on their feet from the time the band walked on stage. A few rows front and center sat once they started Via Chicago, but when the chaos broke everyone was back up for the duration of the show. They did play both Heavy Metal Drummer and Always in Love, so they followed the setlist as planned with no variations. Not much banter...a few things I remember...Jeff mentioned that Jesus etc. was the most requested song from the website at 13 or 14 votes. And he left us with the advice to take off from work/school the next day! Nice to see another guy hand clapping to Standing O too!
