My 15th Wilco Anniversary! 2/15/97 Irving Plaza, NYC..anyone else there?

Recommended Posts

15 Years ago today I saw my first live Wilco show. It was filmed for HBO's reverb series. Memorable highlights include the infamous deli-tray!

This show is still to date my favorite Wilco line up, setlist and show and out of the now 850 + Concerts I have seen in my life it is still in the top 10.

Anyone else attend this show? Thoughts? :guitar

I sure was there, what a night that was! :spider

I audio recorded the show and in fact the recordings that circulate are from another deck that was patched out of my Shoeps rig that night. Wilco played the night before at the Trocadero in Philly and I was pretty tired from that but somehow got a second wind for this nights barnburner.

I even got a parking ticket that night...that I never paid! :pirate

I've seen the deli tray incident, but does the entire HBO show circulate (video that is)?

I was there, and it was my first Wilco show as well. Also still my favorite show of the 15 or so Wilco shows I have seen. Also in my top ten of some 250 or so shows in total, top three even.

I knew walking out of there that night that this band was different, that they had something special going. They rocked it so hard that night. I remember turning to my friends several times during the show and seeing big, sh#@-eating grins on their faces. It was our first Wilco show; all of us are still fans. How could we not be?

The run of Hotel Arizona, Monday, and Kingpin was a highlight, as was the raucous version of Someone Else's Song that they used to play back then.

Thanks for starting this thread - you made my night.
