Big Easy record stores?

Heading down to NOLA next week end and was wondering if anyone had some good record store recommendations? Staying in the Treme. Three blocks north of the Quarter. If you are looking for accommodations try Airbnb online. Saved me lots of cash to spend on music and booze.

I can't really help you out on this, because I have not been to NO of late, but there used to be a store in the French Quarter that specialized in NO type music that was pretty fun. I always found the stores there had pretty high prices.

It's been many moons since I was there, but a quick internet search showed that Louisiana Music Factory on Decatur St (think that's what you were thinking of, Louie) and Magic Bus Records on Toulouse are still in business. Both are in the French Quarter.

Yes, the Louisiana Music Factory is the one. I spent some time in there and found the prices high, although if you are looking for local music they have it, so the price is part of the deal. Glad they are still in business.

Euclid Records of St. Louis opened up a New Orleans branch not too long ago and I hear it's great. Not downtown in the Quarter, but I can almost guarantee it's worth a cab ride or walk. I need to get there myself one of these days...
