Mr. Heartbreak
Shared by Wilco on my Facebook timeline. Very strange learning this news via Wilco, of all people.Makes me a little sad. I loved Rescue Me in particular, but she was really great in general. Right up there with Aretha in the vocal arena, IMHO.http://www.guardian.co.uk/music/2012/dec/28/fontella-bass
LouieB
Her voice was great but her career, not so much. It is sad however. Was for a time married to Lester Bowie of the Art Ensemble. Apparently also recored with the World Saxophone Quartet. LouieB

aricandover
I heard "Homewrecker" yesterday, on WLUW.
LouieB
I heard "Homewrecker" yesterday, on WLUW.I went and listened to this on YouTube after you posted this. Great vocal, kinda stupid song. She had a great voice, maybe as good as Aretha (debateable, but great), the actual songs she was given to sing weren't even close. LouieB
