50footqueenie
OK that was me. Still working on my rendition of VC. If I can only transpose it into B flat for the great highland pipes...
Albert Tatlock
I work for a company with a large office in Glasgow so have been up there a couple of times. Unfortunately that is all coming to an end as we've been swallowed up by Standard Life, so I don't think I can wangle a visit in January. Here's hoping the celtic connection leads to a show in Wales at some point. And if you want sexy . . .
i'm only sleeping
^ I read somewhere that Tweedy hates Tom Jones
froggie
^ I read somewhere that Tweedy hates Tom Jones he was part of the AFL grand final pre-match entertainment down here. everyone loved him! - compared to Meatloaf a couple of years ago, who killed his career that day! Albert Tatlock
^ I read somewhere that Tweedy hates Tom JonesReally? Then he'd better steer well clear of Ponty on a Friday night. This might help change his mind http://youtu.be/PamO6obWcQk

i'm only sleeping
^thanks for the vids! I fear I misread Tweedy when talking about TJ: what he did say is (Google Translate): "If there is something revolutionary about Wilco is the idea that we give a shit to be mature. There something sensational to discover that you are not overwhelmed by the anger of youth. That all or anything, this tendency to dismiss the portion of humanity that leads minivans or listen to Tom Jones. http://elpais.com/diario/2011/09/10/babelia/1315613535_850215.html
Albert Tatlock
I knew that had to be wrong :-) Just as 1 in 200 men today is descended from Genghis Khan, I think Jones the Voice isn't far behind in that statistic. http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2003/mar/02/science.research
Albert Tatlock
Becoming more of a tour? Friday 30th Jan The Ritz - Manchester https://www.ticketline.co.uk/event/unavailable/13299355/tweedy-featuring-jeff-tweedy-of-wilco-manchester-the-ritz-2015-01-30-18-00-00 Edit: To answer my own question - Barcelona a couple of days later, so more UK shows look unlikely? Chinese Apple
Being half Scottish myself, I really thought there was a nice Scotsman rapport between Tweedy and Ewan McGregor when they played charades on Jimmy Fallon last night. :-)
Chinese Apple
But hey everyone wants to be Scottish these days!.That's because "If it's not Scottish, it's crap."
