Doctor B
Sad. Mott was one of the bands of my youth. Mott was one of the truly good rock albums. Loud as hell live. Glad platform shoes went out of style, though. Remembering the Ballad of Mott the Hoople: "Buffin lost his child-like dreams and Mick lost his guitarAnd Verden grew a line or two and Overend's just a rock and roll starBehind these shades, the vision fades as I learned a thing or twoOh but if I had my time again you all know just what I'd do"
Analogman
I saw some posts that had Martin Chambers photo on the news story. I guess someone didn't do their homework. Martin did play with the band for the reunion shows a while back. And a pet peeve of mine is that people only know All The Young Dudes. Mott had many great songs. He also worked with various bands in the years following the band's demise. I believe he also worked as a producer for the BBC.
