Muzzle of Dan
Have Ticketmaster fees increased with the New Year? My wife tried to get us tickets for Billy Joel at Dodger Stadium and the fee is $20 per ticket, plus another $5 each for a venue fee. For 2 $50 tickets the price magically becomes $150. You basically get charged the price of one whole extra ticket when buying 2. Insane. I'll be waiting until the last minute to see if I can pick up some tickets under face value closer to the show. If not, I guess I'm happy I saw Billy Joel the last time he came through town because it just doesn't seem worth paying those ridiculous fees. Anyone notice this with other acts? remphish1
Yeah it is getting ridiculous expensive. One of my biggest peeves with TM is lets say for argument sake Billy Joel. If you get the cheap seats the fees are $20-25. Mid Level 30-40 and best could be over that! What extra service are they providing by selling a higher price ticket to you? They are not doing anymore work than if you bought a cheap seat. The fee should be a flat fee not a percentage of the cost!!! Plus box offices make it next to impossible to get a service charge free ticket!
tinnitus photography
here's the tipping point... i bet more artists will do this, rather than leave $ to the scalpers. http://www.newsweek.com/robbie-williams-management-placing-tour-tickets-resale-websites-higher-prices-541562
suites
Artists are in bed with Ticketmaster...so don't believe that all those fees go to TM. To piggy back on above see lefsetz letter that talks about it. http://lefsetz.com/wordpress/2017/01/12/robbie-williams-kerfuffle/
