borracho
i went and here's some thoughts...- the venue was a renovated highschool auditorium that held 700 or so? - buck meek played about a half-hour. - tweedy played 1.5 hours - started 8:30, over at 10.- the sold-out crowd was very quiet and respectful. i mean, people waited until between songs to get up and go out / come back to their seats. did get a little loud when he took questions from the audience while he was tuning, but got quiet again when he started playing.- during that q&a part, wayne coyne asked a question about if he could make up a song on the spot like elton john, and tweedy said "like chopping broccoli? no."- can't remember the song, but when he did some loud guitar playing, the crowd got really loud with applause and he stopped and said "what was that about? all the acid kick in at once?"- speaking of that, he had some really funny banter throughout the night, so he seemed to be in a good mood.- he played 2 guitars throughout the night. one was a smaller one for the main set, then a larger one with some decoration on it for the encore. Via Chicago Remember the Mountain Bed (Billy Bragg & Wilco cover Bombs Above Some Birds I Am Trying to Break Your Heart (Wilco song) I Know What It's Like Hummingbird (Wilco song) Evergreen Having Been Is No Way To Be New Madrid (Uncle Tupelo song) Impossible Germany (Wilco song) Family Ghost I'm Always in Love (Wilco song) Let's Go Rain California Stars (Billy Bragg & Wilco cover) Jesus, Etc. (Wilco song) I'm the Man Who Loves You (Wilco song) Encore: A Shot in the Arm (Wilco song) Misunderstood (Wilco song) Acuff-Rose (Uncle Tupelo song)
bböp
Cool, thanks for the report. Funny about Coyne. Wonder if Jeff knew it was him asking the question...
borracho
Cool, thanks for the report. Funny about Coyne. Wonder if Jeff knew it was him asking the question... i don't think he did? if so, it probably would've gone differently! but it was sort of dark, so he probably didn't know. dfeamingman
I saw a MAXIMUM CAPICITY sign on the orchestra level. It said 547. Don't know if that included the balcony. I thought of two questions _after_ Q&A time ended. 1) What song do you, JT, get tired of playing?2) Will Wilco or JT ever be able or attempt to play Buffalo Springfield's (Neil Young) Expecting To Fly live again?search YouTube. I can't paste a link.
