I have an odd obsession with how much particular acts cost to book. One of the first things that comes into my mind when I hear someone is playing is "wonder how much they charge". I have a friend with some industry insight and I've been blown away by some of the rates he's thrown around for certain acts. Doing a little digging on the web I found the link below. Its an old article but still lends some perspective on supply and demand vs my tastes and what I think people are worth. Kinda neat reference, granted there are plenty of variables that would affect a bands cost at any given venue.

Guster $20,000

John Stewart $75,000

I rember seeing

Green Day at $250,000 and RHCP $250,000
