garg
hi there, new to this forum and just wanted to see if anyone else here is digging MJ lenderman. i started listening to him during the rollout of his latest album, Manning Fireworks, and was instantly hooked. a lot of the folkier tracks on it have the same magic that wilco gives me, particularly AM-being there. his self-titled is also phenomenal albeit a bit more jason molina-esque
worldrecordplayer
100% into MJ. My son turned me onto him a few years ago. I'm a big fan of all his albums. Never seen him, but that will change next month in Boston. So looking forward!

calvino
Good tune -- never heard of him, but did see he is playing two sold out shows at Thalia Hall in Chicago this month. Good on 'em.
Krisnvt
Okay so he is also part of Wednesday which was sadly the only band rained out at Solid Sound 2024, boo! Saw his set at Woodsist festival 2023 and he’s definitely as good as all the hype. I think people need to go back to Boat Songs because it’s as good as Manning Fireworks! Hoping to still see him a few weeks from now in Brooklyn if he keeps his tour schedule since his family is in Asheville. I hope he’s booked for SS26!
worldrecordplayer
I saw the show at a packed Royale in Boston this week. I went in with very high expectations and the show exceeded all my expectations. One great song after another. The crowd was totally into it, and knew all the words to even the new songs. If you have a chance to catch a show don't miss him. Nugs is live streaming Sunday's show for free. One caveat: I never felt so old at a show. Lenderman's 25 years old and most of the crowd seemed to be 25. I didn't see a single person within 20 years of me and my friends. That being said, it was an absolutely great show, and Manning Fireworks is the best album I've heard in a long time.
Krisnvt
Heading to the show in Brooklyn tonight and I’ll take the bet that I’ll be the oldest one there with my 24 year old daughter and her partner and all the Brooklyn hipsters LOL. I loved Boat Songs and Manning Fireworks is fabulous. Can’t hardly wait, thanks for getting me hyped!
