...to which I say, "art is subjective."

To me, craft is a component of art, along with inspiration: craft + inspiration = art In my opinion, you can be a tremendously skilled craftsman, but if all you do is build really solid but stylistically boring pieces of furniture all day, it'd be difficult to consider you an artist. On the other hand, if your inspiration enables you to build beautiful furniture, pieces that move people, you are an artist. Substitute "music" or "sculpture" or some other medium for "furniture," if need be. I think art requires a certain level of craftsmanship, but not necessarily an expert level. If you

The head of the rangers, kind of like "king of the dipshits," is the starter. He gets to hang out up by the clubhouse and yell at people to get to their tees. The starter for our league is named Mort, and all Mort does is yell "Anyone from [name of league on the front nine] or [name of league on the back nine], the tee box is open!" and "If you've got your foursome, get to your tee!" Mort thinks he's cool.

I'm guessing the pay is shit. The guys in my league mock the rangers incessantly, often to their faces. Rangers are basically hall monitors on wheels.

I don't. I think the one way that the Democrats can guarantee that they won't win the White House in 2008 is to nominate Hillary. Any other candidate, male or female, white or minority -- I think they're even money or better. Hillary -- no way in hell will she get elected. She's the most hated politician in the country. If you want to see the right wing bring record numbers out to the polls, put Hillary Clinton at the top of the ticket. There are even plenty of Democrats who probably wouldn't vote for her, only making her defeat that much more likely.

You better watch it with that thought-crime, Winston.

The Bauer administration's idea of "diplomacy": "DROP THE WEAPON!"

So, speaking of New York, is Giuliani going to be able to ride his post-9/11 performance all the way to a serious run at the GOP presidential nomination? Doesn't anyone remember that he was a scandal-ridden shithead until the planes hit the World Trade Center?
-
I wouldn't. McCain has used up all his benefit-of-the-doubt points with me.

My brother put me onto these folks ... a good friend of his is co-producing their album. If the myspace tracks are any indication of how good the album will be, it oughta be good. Georgie James Features the former drummer of Q and Not U. edit: album has now leaked (see my post below).

Crosby is extremely underrated. Glad to see him still kicking.

Seriously, though, I don't think we've mocked the very concept of this thread nearly enough yet.

When won't it be? There are always going to be people who think it's "too soon." It's been five years, though -- how much longer would you have people wait? Believe me, I'm not saying this to try to stir up shit -- I'm just curious.

I can't see photobucket images here at work, so I'm just going to pretend that A-man posted the goatse pic.

Nah. By then there will likely be some other huge terrorism-related tragedy to dramatize.

I've always found that odd.

Huh. I love tea. The stronger the better, and I never put anything in it. I'm just weird, I guess.

My parents force me to try some damn expensive-as-hell coffee pretty often. I drew the line at that kind that gets crapped out by an exotic cat (Kopi Luwak), which I think is one of the most expensive coffees in the world. They're a frugal pair, my parents, but they've never skimped when it comes to their beloved coffee. I can't stand the stuff in any form, cheap, expensive, or hidden in some kind of dessert -- if there's even the slightest hint of coffee flavor in something, it's not for me.

Your "last" proctologist? How many have you had?

I like my coffee like I like my men: none for me, thanks.

Er ... OK ... Happy Birfday Sir Stew!

Sounds like a fun new toy!
