So, apparently Strawberry's not currently in prison. I'm not sure Doc Gooden's in that picture, though (hard to tell). -
I thought that Edinburgh was one of the most beautiful cities I saw in Europe. I had a great time drinking and carousing there, too. It's been too long to have any specific suggestions, though. As for out in the countryside ... I had a Scottish Rover railpass, so my options were a bit limited. I liked Pitlochry, though -- there's an ancient distillery there, as I recall.

I may need to plan a KC visit just for that. Seriously, congratulations!

I never mastered the forehand toss, so I always preferred hackysack.

How does it compare to otter costumes?

You've obviously never seen Karate Kid III.

Well, he's the one complaining about being poor.

Sharpton's a nutball, but not 100% of the time. He's been right about a few other things, too. That doesn't mean I ever plan to vote for him...

That's not a job, sorry. I'm not saying his work is without meaning. I'm saying that if he's so darn sick of being poor, he has the ability to do something about it, and he's not doing it. That's not noble and bohemian, that's just stubborn and stupid. Some people don't have a job because they can't find one, or they face certain obstacles that they can't overcome. Thax doesn't have a job because he refuses to get one. At some point you have to pull back a little on chasing the dream and think about your day-to-day existence. There's nothing about working a day job that would prevent him f

Settle down, Kobayashi.

Fuck that shit. Dumbass needs to get himself a job. I wish I could do nothing but read my half-assed poems and still pay the rent, but it's not going to happen. So I work. If he doesn't want to work, and he can't make money off his writing, he needs to look into other options. Sorry, I just don't have a lot of sympathy.

Happy Birthday! For your present, here's that picture you posted yesterday in my birthday thread... I know, I know, it's not cool to re-gift, but in this case... edit: LL Cool F beat me to it

My actual birthday happens approximately now -- I was born at 11:34 PM (or 11:42, I can never remember which). So all day I still considered myself to be 37. Now I'm prepared to grudgingly admit that I'm 38. Thanks again everyone!

Thanks everyone! I'm having a relaxing day away from work, and my ol' lady and I went for lunch at the Mongolian BBQ. Later: golf! Oh, and mrkinsley -- that's undoubtedly the best present I'll get today. I mean, I was already a soccer fan, but damn.

For the hell of it, I made some MP3s: clicky The end of "Let's Just Laugh" is a bit rough, but, hey, whaddaya want fer nuthin'? Sound quality may not be up to the usual standards of the bitrate I used (it's a stream, after all).

There's a chance that I'll be in town around then too, though we haven't decided exactly where we're going yet. (Our first week off together in a year.)

My desire to buy a Jaguar rose a notch or two when I saw that commercial. I'm still nowhere near actually wanting to buy a Jaguar, but still. -
I have a photo of Mordecai "Three-Finger" Brown giving a high five.
