The city picks up trees at curbside out here and they turn into wood chips/compost, too.

well in that case, maybe I could talk your girl into the real tree.

Our Christmas tree (and all the neighbors' I can get my hands on) go through the wood chipper and make their way into compost bins or get used as mulch.

My fiance wants to use her fake tree and I want to go up to the mountains, per usual, and cut one down. She doesn't like the idea of killing a tree. These are marked trees and part of National forest and it's only $10. Someone convince her please. I've never had a fake tree and don't like the idea.

As far as do nothing, he has done a hell of a job keeping more promises he made than most polititicians:

 

Averting depression - Some estimates state that without the stimulus unemployment could closer to 16%

Bailing out the auto industry the right way (and holding them accountable) instead of just handing them a blank check like Bush would have done.

Health Care which nobody else was able to push through that will pay for itself (regardless of what people are saying).

Removing troops from Iraq - Down to 50,000

Credit Card act

Consumer bureau and other consumer protections

Student loan improvements

Huge investments in renewable energy - Renewable energy use is expected to double by 2012.

 

Sure, he has spent too much money, but so did Bush with much less to show for it.
