yeah that's funny as hell and a great song, one of my early favorites. also neat to see all of the snippets of lyrics from future songs such as: "hey little girl is your daddy home..." from "Spanish Eyes" and much later on "I'm on Fire", also "Put on your black dress baby, and fix your hair up right...." from "Come On (Let's Go out Tonight)" and a few years later on "Out on the Street." Haven't had the discs out of my car in the past week. There are some ridiculously good pop songs on this record, it's really got a lot Bruce's great lost romantic all over it. I can see why he made the decisions he did, as Darkness is damn near perfect as it stands, but had this came out in 1977 in between BTR and Darkness, it would certainly be talked about today as perhaps in the same breath as "The River." It actually feels a little more cohesive as a double record than "The River," to me. Really hope to hear some of these lost gems when next the E Streeters hit the road.

I've thought about it quite a bit the past couple of years and I'm not sure I can think of a great band, who disbanded, reunited forever later and came out just as good, if not better on the other side. Those two records really are timeless and stand toe to toe with the 80's early 90's Dino Jr. classics. And man do they still have it live, and still loud as fuck.

A one room, used only, record store went out of business here in the last week. It had been open about ten years. There are 7 more shops that sell vinyl still open in Louisville, several of them have been around for 20 or more years. A new vinyl shop is going to open in unchartered territory soon (downtown), we'll see how that goes.

It was a pretty slow season, that didn't really go anywhere. The last couple of episodes picked up steam, and the ending of the finale was interesting enough to warrant another season, but next year has to be it. The early seasons in Agrestic with all of the supporting cast and characters was really good to great in places.

Eddie and the Cruisers. They should've sent royalty checks to Bruce.

What were Bruce and co and the Roots riffing on as the show was going off the air? Also Roy has been the one E Street member that almost always gets used. He played on the HT/LT tour right? "Save My Love," to me sounds like what Bruce was going after with WOAD, with very lackluster results, it's a very good pop song.

I think I'm going to open a record store and do a 100-500% markup on every record I own. I'll finally make my first million.

Sounds as if the Roots will be a big component of the performance tonight. Maybe it'll be the beginning of a future collaboration. Now that is something I would love to see.

Back to the golden age of vinyl, saw stereo versions of the first two records used and in deplorable condition today at a local record store for $40 a piece. Does that sound crazy to any of you? I've got a decent mono of the second record and haven't really thought about its value in quite a long time. Anyone have any ideas?

Just getting started with the Promise. I very well may pull an all nighter tonight with the dvds. The packaging is just spectacular. Listening to "Outside Looking In," right now. Stylistically similar to "Where The Bands Are," no?

I wasn't totally sold on Vick with the injury and early quarterback confusion, but he has made a believer out of me and nothing that happens from this point on will surprise me. I see a serious run coming on for Philly.

CDM, I had a similar thought today. I watched "Taxi Driver," for my yearly viewing this week and today saw the latest Deniro, "Stone," and damn it made me really sad. That's not to say that great things can't happen or be created later in life, but I get what you're saying, and I'm still relatively young at 36.

"In The City" is my fav, but good call.
