My friend has one of the Marhsall ones and it feeds a lot and always seems too bright for me. I had a fender acoustasonic jr for many years and it was okay. I think the Strawberry Blonde amps are the way to go. You could always consider just getting small PA that has like 4 channels or something. Then you room to amplify you and a buddy with microphones. I sold my Fender and just use a PA now.

Does anyone even know the number Jeff has? I heard somewhere that when Jay was in the band they had a couple hundred guitars or something.

I was hoping to accomplish some swells, along with delay, etc. I was also hoping to accomplish some of the live applications that Jeff has in his solo shows, using the "fade in" of a really deep reverb. I also should have asked if stereo or mono was important. I don't anticipate needing stereo if it is just going into a guitar amp, or PA, or a recording unit. Thanks for the feedback.

Hey everyone, I have some more pedal questions, this time involving volume pedals. I was wondering how necessary an active pedal is over a passive one. For instance, if I want to use it with my acoustic guitar live, using an active pickup, will the pedal still do the job if I use it for electric guitar (passive) / recording? I need versatility. I was thinking one of the "Jr" pedals that Ernie Ball makes. Suggestions would be great. Thanks in advance.

I agree with the slide playing probems mentioned in previous posts. I doesn't look that hard, but boy is it. If I could get over the learing curve of slide, it seems like a lot of doors would be opened.

Looks awesome!! How expensive is it to record to tape? I've always wanted to try it out, but I have too much $$ invested in digital equipment. Nothing beats the warmth of tape.

I think we all know I have to buy a prunes and custard, but does anybody know what kind of multi-effects setup that is good. I need bang for the buck and I want I wide variety of sounds...

Me too. I would steer clear. I have a les paul made by them and 3 of the knobs went dead within a couple of months. Yikes.

do you mean the parts near the end of the song? those noise are pretty cool. This sounds crazy, but over the part where the drums are like: boom boom chaka cha boom boom chaka cha? Sort of the byaazoont sort of sounds in the background? I am assuming that is what you you meant.

Does anyone know what these are / were? I thought for awhile they were guitar picks, but I can't imagine Jeff, in all of his guitar love, to push a pick under the fretboard.

I think the one in the IATTBYH DVD was a 1954. I also believe that guitar was sold on ebay after the YHF touring was done. I know one of his J45s was, not exactly sure it it was that one...

Yea man, only real problem is that the new Vox/Korg quality control is shit. So find a dealer who will let you return it if it dies, or buy one pre-used/tested.

I could not agree more. A couple of years ago I had a Vox produced Cambridge 30 twin. It was a great sounding amp, I believe 2 10" Celestion bulldogs and it had a tube preamp. It sounded F--KING GREAT. Good warm clean and a great dirty overdrive channel. Also had wonderful built-in tremolo and reverb. The problem was that there was something wrong with the power amps that necessitated them being shorted out every so often so that they would act together and not cause a shitload of noise, hum and feedback. Got it fixed twice and then got rid of it. It was never very loud (30 watts nothing!!) and two of my friends had the same amp and suffered the same fate. I know it's a long story, but I don't want to see good money go to waste like mine did. Makes me weary of the higher-end Vox equipment.

the repetitive bent note I believe is a D. I hear it as the D on the G string as in 7th fret. Sorry, don't know if that is much help.

I just want to thank you guys for getting this straightened out. I, and I'm sure you and others, have worked for a good couple hours to put up a cool tab, only to find that when it gets posted all the chord names, etc. are all in the wrong spots. thanks again.
