  1. I tried and tried to figure this song out and my success was pretty limited. As I understand, Jeff is using a baritone 12 string, and I certainly don't have one of those. So in my trials this is what I got: Asus (x02200) and then hammer up to and A (x02220) and then A/Dsus(??) (x02230). I'm pretty sure those chords are all in there. When the lyrics start: (E) It's a random painted highway and a muzzle of bees (back to the A chords). At one point I thought I heard this chord (x04232) which I'll call (A/F#). So..

(E)The sun gets passed, tree to tree (A/F#) silently back to me (A chords).

I hope some of my rambling helps. What a great song.

  2. I play a bit of harmonica. It's definately in the key of D. Jeff also has his guitar in Drop D tuning. Just listen to the recording (IATTBYH DVD) and you can pick it out. Okay...got my harmonica. Goes from (holes) 5 to 6 blowing out, then suck in and bend twice on 5 and blow out (sounds like wah-oo-wah hoo for the bend part). Then bend in and blow out on 5 (wee hoo). Then in on 4 and back out. Now suck in and bend twice on 4 and blow out, following the same progression from 5 to 4, but this time go from 4 to 3. If you play around with that, hopefully you can get an idea. Hope this helps!

  4. I know this question has been asked before, and I'm not sure if it was ever clearly answered. Sooo....Does anyone know, really, what setup Jeff uses to achieve that really deep reverb when he plays solo? A perfect example is on "Summerteeth" from the 3-04-2005 Vic Theatre Show. Muchas Gracias if you guys can give me the scoop.
