got there are around 4:30, there were already 30-40 people in line. wish i had worn gloves, long underwear and thick socks.
however, jeff did advise us not to "do that" again, and make it a free for all instead
I saw you guys waiting outside as I passed by on the redline on my way to work. Tried to send some warm vibes in your direction. Hope it helped.
So lemme ask you all this: I am off tomorrow, and was planning on getting there early for a good view. Sweetie, however, can't make it til 7pmish. Were they cool about letting people down front that got there a wee bit later? Would it piss any of you all off if she was able to do this??? She's quite mousy and does not take up much room.

The game formerly known as the "Toilet Bowl" starts in less than an hour. ...so surreal seeing KU up there.

In additional to the typical Thanksgiving spread (which includes ham and turkey at our house) every year we have pastitsio.
My grandpa used to make it, but now my sister or my parents do the honors.
MMMMM....kefelotiri cheese
I think pasticcio deserves its own thread

On September 18, 1997, I saw The Rolling Stones at The Double Door for 7 bucks. Crikey, that was 10 years ago already?!?!

I'm pretty excessive in my love for Wilco.
12 shirts
4 posters
8 ticket stubs
Framed post cards as well
Wilco toys
3 books + 1 songbook
2 DVD's
All the vinyl except AM and Summerteeth
And a framed picture of this above my bed.
why do you have a framed picture of the Geico caveman above your bed?

presale tickets still available!

3) Invite everyone from the office and hope the ones you don't like already know this and won't come anyway. Even if they do come....so what. Get blind drunk and have fun at their expense. Who knows, too- maybe a few drinks'll loosen them up and you'll bond a bit.
I vote for this one

I read somewhere that much like The Pirate Bay, and other such places, they were under some sort of attack - some technical deal I think. It is my understanding that using public BT sites up the chances of one getting busted - particularly if one snags new movies and such things. I also think the recent worm thing I had most likely came in from something I got from Demonoid.
that sucks...anyone else had any trouble?

OH my God, this band is timeless.
WHo has seen dig?
"Thank God for Mental Illness" is a must own
Agreed..."Hide and Seek" is one of my all-time favorites.
Have you decided where to put the BJM tattoo?

How were they? I heard they played Buffalo Trace...god that song is awesome live.
Buffalo Trace rocked...it was the highlight of the show for me!
Scott: "I know you guys blew off watching 'Flight of the Conchords' to be here tonight...we just want to say thanks."
Frog did not show up, but the beverage was not wasted.
I could've done without the lip from the British bartender at Cleo's, however. ...just get me my white russian and shut the hell up.

Nice attitude. Remind me again why our neighborhood faught so hard to have a fest with mainstream acts again...
Listen Pally...if the "suggested donation" went in part to teaching newbies how to spell, I'd be all over it.
These bands get paid. Everyone gets paid. I am not robbing anyone of anything by not paying the entry fee...copy?
I LIVE here. I PAY property tax here. If there is a cause that I deem worthy of my money, I will give it to them. These festivals are not cheap, and the money that I save on the gate fee will no doubt be spent on vendors within the fest itself. ...why, just tonight I dropped over 100 clams on food, booze and merchandise! 20 bucks of that went to the band directly! How was your night?!!? Did paying the $5 entry fee make you feel like a better person? ...obviously. Not paying the entry fee tonight made me feel one thing: thirsty. Not paying the entry fee tomorrow night for Local H will make me feel the same way.
Matter of fact...with the money I save tomorrow night, I would love to by you a beverage. I'll be the guy wearing the spanking new Old 97's T-shirt holding this above my head in my right hand:
You can't miss me.
Love and Lust,
Tenderloin.

I was on metromix trying to plan my weekend and I discovered that the Old 97's are playing at The Taylor Street Festa saturday night. Also listed as playing at 6:30 is Blue Mountain. I wonder if this is the same Blue Mountain with Laurie Stirratt from back in the day?
Here's the link if anyone's interested.
Sunday night also brings Local H to Westfest on Chicago and Damen, FYI.
Remember...all listed entry fees to these fests are "suggested donations" = FREE!!!

From ye olde bastardes dept.: "Back in the New York Groove" by Ace Frehely, but more often than not credited to Kiss
Nice! This song always stumps the locals when played on the jukebox. Disco Kiss!
-
i seriously just screamed "OHHHHHHHHHHHHH SHITTTTTTTT!" out loud.
thanks! I'll be here all week...try the veal!
-
forehead?!? Your avatar hints that you got more of a fivehead, dude.
With all that real-estate, I'd go with that classic poster design with "wilco" spelled out in the chicago skyline.

Nice!
Can someone tell the tall guy in the middle of the crowd with the red hat to take it off? I'm standing behind him and I can't see.
