  1. Ok, i bought sky blue sky last night and listened to it with all the lights off in the living room with some blackberry brandy. I confess I was a bit disapointed. A lot of it was just very jam bandy no? I mean, some of those songs just went on forever. I nodded off at one point and dreamt I was at a Wilco concert - of course that may have been the blackberry brandy talking. Lol!

  2. I dont know about the Jeff stuff

But yeah, cockfighting. I really dodnt know where or when it started but from what i gathered there was a bunch of ppl on here who lived in the chicago area and a bunch from minneapolis, there was some cockfighting teams from within multiple areas within the cities, talk of road trips to each other's city to fight. Really seemed out of place and strange.

  3. LIFE OF REILLY

I needed to know: can Obama pick a fantasy team? So I asked him.

I have the absolute worst fantasy league football partner. Just try to get the guy to return a call. Or a text. You need a damn court order.

He's Barack Obama. And, yeah, I guess he's busy, but why was I the one who had to fly to Dayton, get frisked and have bomb dogs drool on my bags just so I could meet him getting off his tricked-out, chartered 757? He can't meet a guy halfway?

I asked each candidate to be my running mate for one week in a fantasy league, just to see what kind of president he'd make

  4. Exactly -- the point is that they shouldnt have gotten involved in the first place. And i know abortion is an important issue (i guess) but if your vote simply comes down to that one issue - despite all that is going on in the world at this point in time - i dunno. I look forward to the day when abortion and gay marriage are the 2 things gripping the country.

  5. if he's in favor of the federal gov't staying out of the decision, shouldn't he be in favor of repealing roe v. wade?

No. Roe vs. Wade was put in place to combat laws making abortion illegal. If the state and federal governement had the good sense to stay out of a woman's uterus in the first place then the courts could have stayed out of it.

  6. I think it is hard not to be hung up on the idea of Sarah Palin. Speaking as a person, an American, I find it so troubling that a candidate who only speaks in catchphrases and colloquialisms (sp?) be allowed to do so on the national and, moreso, the world stage and still be considered abolutely ideal as a candidate for the highest office in the land. That's not me being elitist or whatever catchphrase umbrella-term, dumbing down the arguement way you wish to paint me as -- that's just how I feel. There is absolutely zero substance in anything I have ever heard Mrs. Palin say. I know that McCain and Obama both speak in political double talk frequently, but there is some substance every once in a while.

We have had 8 years with a president who has sounded - for lack of a better word - unintelligent on both the national and world stages. If we are still an alleged super power I just don't think that is ok. I think it is embarressing. Sarah Palin makes W look like a gifted orator.
