  1. what a bizarre and tempting combo. hmm...
  2. It is sad to hear that there are enough men who "look down upon women as a policy" that they may be referred to in connection with anything. Who would you cite as examples of this behavior? I don't care for Hillary Clinton at all, but I would be ecstatic to have a woman serve as President. I think it's badly needed at this point. A POST-menopausal woman, of course. (I'm just kidding, don't get your panties in a wad) (damn, I did it again). sorry. well, see, I was just working on that problem with the whole "introduction" thing.
  3. Hi, I'm Neil. Pleased to make your acquaintance.
  4. There's an "ignore" option?!!?! Geez. First I find out there are two new wilco dates in Texas this October, and now this. What a fantastic day!! Found it. thanks so much for the know cryptique.
  5. I was listening to "What Light" last night, and for some odd reason, I was thinking that Bono would cover this song. Then I imagined him singing it, and I got angry. So Jeff, don't let Bono sing "What Light." please. It's too good for that. (no offense, Bono).
  6. I'm good for $5. Although I'm not sure why I'd want you to stop posting--other than the simple fact that your signature gives me nightmares.
  7. would you expound on what exactly you love about her? I'm curious... I'm obviously not a fan of hers, but I try to keep an open mind about political figures, so I'd be interested to know what motivates you to support her. --Neil in what way is John Stoseel an ass? Have you read his latest book?
  8. He is obviously suffering from some kind of dimensia or drug addiction. I'm going to pretend I didn't see any of that. I need a shower.
  9. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! where did you get this information? Has the sky turned purple? Have wilco fans gotten over the personnel changes? Has primetime television become witty and original?
  10. she quite literally frightens me. When I was in law school ('94-'97) she came and spoke to us. You could have easily convinced me that we were watching and listening to a robot. I have rarely in my life heard someone use so many words and gestures and yet say so little. She could easily frighten young children and cause sleeping disorders. Has she offered any original ideas or plans, or simply criticized everything done on the other side of the aisle? (I'm asking sincerely, I don't know of an example). I fear that only the mighty Newt can save us now, and sadly I think that time has
  11. What an awful, desolate place you must have been in. I can only imagine in my darkest mind what that must have been like. You should find a 12-step group to make sure that you don't relapse.
  12. I was listening last night to two R.E.M. concerts I recently got through torrents--one from '84 and the other from '86. The whole lineup of that album is represented, and done so well. What an original band they were then...
  13. that's one of the funniest things I've ever read on this board. I love Frusciante, but gave up interest in RHCP after BloodSugarSexMagiklongrunonsentenceofanalbumname. I think maybe they should relocate to Des Moines and put out "Dani Iowa" or something.
  14. thank you, you just made my day, week, month and year. OCT-12 FT. WORTH, TEXAS WILL ROGERS AUDITORIUM OCT-13 SAN ANTONIO, TX SUNSET STATION
  15. that depends on which side of the line you'd place him...
  16. I haven't found the lyrics to all the newbies in "lyrics & tabs." anyone want to throw in their versions?
  17. But I don't think this statistic is screwed. Think about how much it costs to "produce," bottle and distribute bottled water, vs. the production, distribution, tax and maintenance costs of a gallon of gasoline. I just think our outrage over the price of gas is a little silly when you consider what we'll pay for 16 ozs of water or coffee.
  18. never lose hope. Starbucks may fail.
  19. I think it's interesting that we Americans spend more per gallon on coffee and water than we do on gasoline...
  20. I realize this was a typo, but I kind of like the word. As a side-thread, I'd love to hear proposed definitions... I'm not sure about the political party absence. I have noticed, in addition to your observation, that many candidates' signs do not even include the office for which the candidate is running. I fear this is the result of marketers' influence--which is to say that pure name recongition may trump political parties or offices themselves. I know that in a judicial primary election which took place here in Houston recently, a judge that I happen to like was unseated by an oppone
  21. I've been wondering the same thing. Something this entertaining surely can't last...
