what song is after Dash 7, Still ?
I think he was saying they were still playing with Andrew Bird.

The deal is that was the third rudest audience i've ever been a part of. Talking, moving and drinking are all expected at concerts. I was on the second and then third tier and the noise was unbearable at points making the music unlistenable (please be patient with me and ALTWYS come to mind). Throughout the venue there were large groups of people pushing everywhere i don't think I went through a song without getting shoved (not bumped). I am all for the atmosphere of a club but last night was like being at a bar with were some shitty local band is playing.
I could care less if these are new or old fans; people were just down right rude. I'm sure it was better for a lot of you folks who got up front but everywhere else was pretty noisy. I've been to some 20 wilco shows since 2004 ( a newb myself) and i never saw a crowd like the one last night and i've seen them all over the country. I remember on the Ghost is born tour being able to hear a pin drop during the quiet numbers.
Last night was more then disheartening. For those upstairs was it any quieter? I'm going wed. and am hoping for a better crowd.
As for the music the band played great. The oldies sounded great esp. Why Would You wanna live? and Can't Stand It!
I think the issue may just be proximity to the speakers. In the balcony, the music wasn't Oh My God I can't hear myself loud. It was a nice volume, with a beautiful mix. However, the problem is, when it isn't that loud, you can really hear the talkers. It does get obnoxious, but that's not because there are more or less of them, it's because the music isn't as loud up there.
At least that's what I think. There was a lot of talking, but maybe it was just because I could hear it better because I was farther away from the band.

Hey, how does seating work at the Riv? First come, first served? Is it mostly standing room? I just realized that I've never been to the Riv.
EDIT: Looks like main floor is standing, balcony is seating? Confirmation would be appreciated.
Thanks!
That's right. Get there early, if you want a seat/good spot to stand.

wilco doesn't allow video recordings of their shows. I assume it got pulled because of that.
I don't even know if I should point this out, but it's fairly obvious there are plenty of clips people took on YouTube. Just type in Wilco, and a bunch will come up. Why would this one be pulled so quickly?

What type of merch did they have for sale?
T-shirts for the tour, t-shirts for the residency. Vinyl for SBS and AGIB, and I believe all their CDs.
I bought a record and shirt, and got a free SBS tote bag.

They did it in Iowa City in October, so there goes that theory. In fact, I think they may have the entire leg.
Hrmm. They did it at the Auditorium in 06 when I saw 'em, but when I saw them in Davenport, IA in 07, they did not. Intreresting...
-
Anyone know why, in Chicago (I have never seen them do it anywhere else), they walk on to the theme song to "The Bob Newhart Show"? It's kind of funny, and a peppy tune, but I just don't get why...
-
Whew. Anyway, back to awesome. I had never seen ELT, What's the World Got in Store, When the Roses Bloom Again, Either Way, Too Far Apart, Can't Stand It, Why Would You Wanna Live and Please Be Patient with Me (with the band, that is). I can cross them off the list.
The band sounded great.

Okay, we need to figure this out lol. Jesus Etc. was also played, but it wasn't on the set. I'm working on it, and I think I am close.
Edit: Someone beat me to it. Good.

No Muzzle of Bees tonight.
And they only played Misunderstood once.
Yeah, and they played I'm the Man Who Loves You

Awesome show! I was there and now I'm home. 2 hour 50 minute show. I am currently going through the songs to put them in order, but I may fail. Hopefully someone beats me to it.
I was in the very very last row, but it was great. Some songs I had never heard live! Good show, but I'm sure I won't be the only one saying that.
-
I got nothing, and now will have to sell myself for them. Uugghhhh.
-
I am now interested in any night, one or two tickets (preferably two, but I'll take one). PM me if anyone has any extras!
-
Oh well. Tomorrow won't be as stressful for getting tickets. You may have 30 seconds....instead of 2.
-
I always hate XRT presales. I got shut out. Damn.
-
I really don't think it will be that hard to get tickets, if you are online when they go on sale. They never are. The Vic, for 4 nights, when people knew it was being filmed, recorded, was not terrible if you were online at the right time.
This time, it is 12,500 tickets, same amount as Millennium Park (roughly). I know some will go multiple/all 5 nights, but it will sell out quickly. But if you are online at the right time, there shouldn't be any issues.
-
Nope. They have five nights. They can do it.
I'm not being a naysayer, but that includes every b-side, cover, song on a compilation there is. I'd love for them to play "Student Loan Stereo", but do you really think they'll do "Let Me Come Home" or "Diamond Claw"?
-
The Tribune said they will be playing every song the band has ever recorded. I highly doubt that. Anybody else with me?

I am jealous of anyone who has gotten to see Neil Young on this tour. I am in Champaign, IL for college, and his two Chicago shows were too far away to make it on a Monday or a Tuesday. I have looked at the setlists, and they look awesome.
However, the story does not end on a sad note. A friend of mine went to the St. Louis show, and brought me back a tour shirt. I am thrilled to get it, and it was just about the nicest thing anyone has done for me this semester.
-
I know - I was joking you. I guess we will find out eventually.
I miss OiNK. I had a year ago, got kicked off. Just got another invite, two days before it was shut down. 'Tis a shame.
-
No, Oink got shut down - didn't you hear the news?
No, I mean for free download. They put up the second disc for free when the same thing came out for AGIB. You just needed the original CD.
-
Are they putting all this up for download like they did for the regular people for AGIB?
-
Theologians and I'm a Wheel were played on XRT quite a bit when AGIB came out.
