  1. Did any of you mail cards to players to be signed? Most veterans wouldn't mess with it, so the trick was finding young players with potential. My best autograph score through this method was Gary Sheffield on his 89 Topps rookie, wearing a Brewers uni and braces.

  2. When I was a kid, I suspected my local card shop was opening the Topps wax packs, taking out the good cards, replacing them with commons and resealing. I haven't collected cards in a long time, but I hope they are making them tamper-proof now.

  3. thanks for weighing in on MLB.tv

now my concern is that since i would be using it primarily at work, i'd use too much bandwith and get in trouble.

admittedly, i don't know much about it ... maybe it wouldn't be a big deal at all

  4. I captured it. I almost missed The Lonely 1. I thought the stream was done, and i hit record just in time before the song started up. Did any of you guys get the same silent gap i did after Spiders? I left the room for a minute during that, and when i came back, there was silence. Then I heard Jeff talk about Glenn's unfortunate accident! :lol

The sound was pretty much flawless for this one.

yep there were lots of silent gaps on my end

  5. He's going to be out till at least June...so no, probably not.

Dang. I was hoping sooner. I should have done more research.

Also, I think I saw that you drafted Ryan Braun as your 3B. From what I understand, he's going to play LF. Not sure if that affects anything.

Right now he's only eligible at 3B on Yahoo. They'll add OF eligibility after so many games (15 or 20, I think), which will give me more flexibility in my lineup.

  6. This is the least amount of research I've ever done for fantasy baseball. I won my league last year so maybe I'm resting on my laurels. Anyway, in a 5x5, 12-team, head-to-head league ...

  7. At my newspaper, we don't even have a TV.

Ours are turned to news, both local and CNN.

I can get it turned if there's a big game on, but no sound.

I really need to go back to working days.

Back to the subject at hand ... Dice-K didn't look too great this morning, at least from what I saw. Was it just nerves since he was pitching in Japan?
