    *Disclaimer: This isn't - and can't be - my final judgement yet, as I've just listened to it 4 times so far*

     

    Awesome. Bloody gorgeous. I stick to every single word I said after having heard the first songs off it live about 1,5 years ago: "This album might be the best Wilco have ever released."

    Nick Cave is my favorite artist for quite a while now. Whilst I prefer his mellow stuff, I also appreciate the rockers & the more raw tunes. Not too much into Grinderman yet, but those 4 guys played the best live show I have ever seen by anyone, so that is that. :yes

    I'm planning on it, Dunja. The timing works out. Just need to find myself a plane ticket. (Hoping I can still take advantage of my small remaining time left as a student!)

     

    Question: Are all those shows you got tickets for general admission, or are they reserved seating?

     

    It doesn't look like we can buy tickets for any of the Euro shows yet, except ATP and the the Barcelona fest...

    If you go here to Eventim, you will be able to purchase tickets even as a forgeigner. I buy all my tickets with them, and I've never had a problem. If there is any problem, let me know, and I will gladly help you out :yes

    Can you Europeans tell us about these venues? Big, small, club, theater, etc.?

     

    Shepherd's Bush is quite a nice venue, old theatre. Saw Jeff solo there in 2005 (God is it really that long since I got me some Wilco :upset?!?) and found the acoustic to be really good as well.

     

    The Live Music Hall in Cologne (where I saw Wilco in 2005....again....*rant* ) is a nightmare. The surroundings are horrible, so all you can do is basically get to the venue and get outta there as quickly as possible and back in to the wonderful city of Cologne :yes At least it is really small (probably 800-1000 people).

     

    The Paradiso in Amsterdam I have never seen myself, but heard fairytales about how good it is, so it is probably worth checking out.

     

    Can't say anything about the venues in Berlin & Hamburg, as I have never been to them, but all venues in Berlin and Hamburg I have been to have been good so far, so that might be a hint ;)

    Dunja, is your tour offer still good? :P

     

    I will probably only be able to make it to Cologne, maybe Berlin, but for Cologne, this offer stands. What did you think :P?

     

    We already go away from 26th to 28th due to our anniversary, so this again comes to a bad timing, but Cologne yes, that is a given. Will let you know asap if we can make it elsewhere!

     

    Edit: I am gonna wait until my boss comes back from Mallorca at the end of next week where I sent him for 8 appointments, and if they were any successful, I am gonna sit on his lap (not literally :P) and ask him for 24th & 25th off :D

    Some day, some morning/night, some time, some European MUST be the "Old World Living Room Show Pioneer" (either over here or over there :lol), and I am certainly hoping that it'll be me/us :yes

    Oh I am so totally sure that Gwen would love to come around and buy some Dutch liquorice! Belgian ice-cream and chocolate isn't too bad either :P

     

    Road-trip through the Lower Countries sounds complete fun :yes
