It also just occurred to me that Theologians is not on Kicking Tele: Live in Chicago. Weird.
-
My Darling, Wishful Thinking, Hate It Here come to mind right away.
As for What Light i'd say that sounds more like something off of The Grateful Deads master peice "American Beatuy" (Cough...RIPPLE...COUGH)
My Darling sounds very Lennonesque fo sho. I guess What Light does too.
American Beauty is just fantastic but I don't hear any similarities with any Dead music in any Wilco music...at all.

What about Theologians, too? I don't see that very often on setlists, and along with Wishful Thinking and Company in my Back they are some of my favorite Wilco songs.
After I started this thread I got to thinking about Theologians. It is no longer an every show song like Jesus, etc., Late Greats or ITMWLY. I wonder how they determine which songs to curb.

I agree there. I don't hate A.M., I just think their other albums are a lot better.
Werd. I definitely appreciate it's rawness though. I was in a shitty mood the other day and was perked up when I heard "Box Full of Letters" on 105.3 the Peak (Killington, VT).

In light of what looks like a kick-ass show Sunday night (9/2) in Denver, when they busted out Company in my Back, it occurred to me that they haven't played these three very much lately.
I am lucky to have seen the second to most recent full band version of Wishful Thinking (7/16/06 Pines). They brought it back at the Warsaw (6/26/07).
As for Hell is Chrome, it hasn't been played since the first Auditorium show last fall (11/24/06).
What are everybody's thoughts? I think they'll be gems when performed live in the future.

Pretty good performance, Nels was note perfect...
John's grown a beard.
Nels is amazing. I just moved to Vermont a few months ago and got to talk to him after the Shelburne show (6/29, also my 30th B'day).
Tonight he was right on. I'm not crazy about the song choice though....Hate it here would have been cool.

What an incredible sounding show. Wish I was on the other side of North America.
-
Has a handful of decent songs, with one exception, Box full of letters, which is a Jeff classic.
-
Has Via Chicago and How to fight Loneliness. Two Wilco classics.
Saw VC live in Shelburne and was absolutely floored.

We got no variety between the NJ, Mass, and Vt shows, and Norway gets Hoodoo Voodoo? Damn
Whats up my friend. Great time in VT. Good to meet you in person.
What's with that??? HV in freakin' Norway. I would love to see it live.

Great show, very scenic venue. A solid Via Chicago and Spiders. Good enegry and crowd participation. Plus, it was my 30th b'day. I got to talk to Jeff and Nels an hour after the show. Nels was very positive and inspirational.
Only complaint: they left the stage at 9:35 because of venue curfew.
And yes, Muzzle was sick. In fact, Nels' play was incredible all show. Tight lineup right now.

Last year's Pines show featured the last full band versions of Far, Far Away and Wishful Thinking. I'm expecting great things Sunday.
-
Also at last year's Pines show was the last full band version of Far, Far Away. I hope this year is as special.
-
It's the Wishful Thinking of SBS.
I saw Wishful Thinking last year at the Pines. It still stands as the last full band version. Maybe they'll break it out again Sunday.

As far as I know, this is the only track on any Wilco studio album yet to be performed live. Anybody have an idea why? It has a nice vibe. They are doing the other mellow tracks from SBS (What Light, SBS, YAMF, although Patient With Me seems to be reserved for solo shows) so I'm surprised Leave Me hasn't yet surfaced live, not even at a Jeff solo show.
-
Last year's Pines show was the best Wilco show I've seen too. I can't imagine how good they are going to be this year. I've heard that Jeff's energy is great and the band is kickin'. I'll see you folks there. It would be neat if we VCers met up before the show. It is a cool venue with a great vibe.

Thank you, my friend. Will do.

There are no good restaurants in that neighborhood though.
Really? None? There might be a subway in Penn Station. Besides that, I'm sure you can find somewhere decent.
I think this guy has balls to avail himself in this manner. My only problem is that he seems incredibly picky in his questionaire. Mine would all be like: Any cute girls want to join me fore Wilco at the Hammerstein....?

Hi. I successfully downloaded the first several files from the 3/3/07 Living Room show. I was on track 21 and i kept getting a Wave Pad registration window. Anyone had this happen?? This is the software for NCH Switch, my flac conversion software. What gives? Just b/c I download the files, this doesn't mean that I will convert the with NCH. There's more....it will still let me convert flacs, but still blocks me from dowloading from owlandbear. Help? Please.
BTW thanks for all this good stuff.

Sunken Treasure, Conan (which was solid), bad relationships with unappreciative people.
Also, it should be on SBS.

Thanks Owl. A lot of people swear by Mozilla. I'll give it a shot.

If you use Firefox, try installing the DownloadThemAll plugin:
How about if I use Internet Explorer?

Welcome Sara. Nice first posts.
As for "Ripple," it's torturte to hear Jeff play it. It's such a nostaligic song for me. I'm not sure he knocks the Dead and their fans exactly; they are very dedicated as are Wilco fans. Jeff doesn't seem that closeminded to me.
