  1. there was an interesting interview with an Italian reporter on NPR today who wrote a book about the Italian government's complicity in the false information being passed around in the lead up to the war. It was very interesting - though also very sad.
  2. anyone know where I can find a clip of that guy stealing home on Randy Johnson - it was from last year, yes? I think it was Randy Johnson.
  3. wow BP! Good stuff!! Congrats and good luck out west!!
  4. with the fees - the $8 tickets for 2 people quickly turn to $30 - and that is steep for us right now....plus Metra or driving/parking costs. However, it is still cheaper than regular tickets. I fucking hate Ticketbastard. Anyhow, I will talk to the G man and let ya know!
  5. it IS tempting.......where are you seats? if you are on the lower level then we wouldn't be able to see you. But - if you are up top - we could meet up with ya! That's where I found the cheap seats.
  6. I would like to - pulled up some pretty sweet seats for $8 - but need to talk to G about it - it may keep us out too late.
  7. Fresh Air is replaying old Halberstam interviews. It is fantastic.
  8. White Soxers - Discount Codes
  9. yes, that was quite a World Series......though I do not hate the Tigers like I do those evil Red Wings. All is going alright here - I love being married, am pretty indifferent to living in Chicago (at the moment, though am looking forward to starting an MA program at Loyola in the fall) and Emily has seen better days - but we are getting by and moving forward. Spring is here and the doves are singing and the grass is green......bliss! I am pretty behind in the Sopranos - so I never creep into the thread on here. I still need to watch all of LAST season!! Please do keep in touch....
  10. is this the photo where they sold their souls to the devil?? I was just thinking about you a couple days ago Mr. Saunders......what's haps??

  12. Oberweiss ice cream is pretty tasty - but I would rather give my money to liberals like Ben and Jerry than a neo-con like Mr. Oberweiss. (funny story - Oberweiss once had his car serviced at the garage that Graham's cousin worked at - he actually paid the bill in Burger King gift certificates.) damn, Kevin - that sounds good, too.
  13. I wish I could convince Graham that moving to Lawrence is a good idea......I would love to. Heck, he was born there!
  14. holy crap - that DOES sound good. Maybe we should have tried a cone when we passed it yesterday! the best vanilla ice cream is Breyer's
  15. we passed a Ben and Jerry's at the train station yesterday and they did have Cinnamon Buns flavor - but no Americone Dream. So, my dream has yet to be fulfilled. Heck, I may just have to drive down to Allison's 7-11.
  16. I have family in the KC area and get out there from time to time - and still have yet to go to the NLBM - every time I am there I want to go, and never have enough time. One of these days I will get out there specifically just to visit the museum.
  17. Happy Birthday to one of my best pals!! Have a great day!!
  18. I am still on the hunt for the Colbert Americone Dream....... I am partial to the frozen yogurt Cherry Garcia
  19. Remember that politician that actually did commit suicide on television? That was one of the most disturbing things I have ever seen in my life.
  20. To be clear - I wasn't defending anything - I was just saying. Fox, CNN, ABC, CBS or NBC would have all done the same, I have no doubt. I don't think NBC has a cornerstone on lack of integrity. Good on the CBC and the BBC reports I have also seen have been done well.
  21. Though any of the news networks would have done the same.
  22. the whole thing rings a little too close to home for me......echoes of my ex-husband. Though, I am still not sure why this is NEWS- hell, when I was flipping through news channels at lunch I saw this story on more than once.
  23. I despise both of them.... I went to price Sox tickets the other day for Graham's birthday/Mothers Day (via Ticketmaster) and not only was I slapped with a fee PER ticket - but then when I saw the bottom line, it also included a $3.50 service fee.....not for postage, etc....just a service fee. I didn't buy the tickets and might just run to their box office next time I am down near there instead. Freaking ridiculous.
