i would love to hear ryan/mandy duet. her last album was surprisingly good. a few years ago she apologized for all the shit music she put out a few years ago. funny.
Not sure if this has been posted, but here Mandy is singing backing vocals on "Oh My Sweet Carolina" at a recent soundcheck. I think it sounds really good. Would love to hear more.

Another cool thing about this show is that it is scored by Michael Andrews aka Elgin Park, who is the guitarist for Greyboy Allstars and did the music (wrote and performed) for the film Donnie Darko.

Not when you live in the south... Summer means HOT weather...
Well at least for me.. Most people down here welcome the hot weather and it can't come soon enough... It'll be 60 degrees and you'll see people walking around in Eskimo jackets...
This past weekend I had the heat on in the car. It was 61 degrees.

Haverchuck making his afterschool snack and watching Gary Shandling on TV is one of the best moments in TV history.
That was great. Thanks. "I'm One" is the perfect soundtrack for that scene.

"Boardwalk Empire" just keeps getting better.

I love in IATTBYH (i think it's Pot Kettle Black) where Leroy is playing keys with one hand and waving a feedbacking guitar with the other.

I love this show, but not get carried away. Nothing tops The Wire.

Sorry for your loss, Donna. Thanks for sharing.

Yikes, I really hate how this ends the album.
I think John even said this song wasn't too great.
Hard Days Night is the best all around pre-Revolver for me.
I guess what attracts me to that song is the lyrics. They're straight gangster.
I'll have to revisit Hard Day's Night next.

Enjoyed listening to this:
The White Album 40 Years Later
When I was younger, I was pretty obsessed with Sgt Pepper's, The White Album, and Abbey Road, but these days I can't get enough of For Sale, Help, and Rubber Soul.
No Reply, Baby's in Black, What You're Doing, Help, I Need You, It's Only Love, Run For Your Life. Whenever I listen to these songs, it makes me want to write a song and/or give up songwriting altogether. You can't top this stuff.

That first track is the cat's tits.

All I know is I don't like the mix already.

Wow. Didn't realize Boardwalk Empire theme is Brian Jonestown Massacre. Hmm

I seem to remember a rather extensive tab for this song, but can't find it when I searched...anyone have a copy to post?
Thanks in advance!

It's back down for me, too. This is Zuckerberg's revenge for that movie. I feel so alone.

If it is your birthday, I am sorry I have not wished you a happy birthday because facebook is the only way I know when someone's birthday is.

It's back up. Now I can go back to not using it.

Bought this yesterday. Listened to it twice so far and this will stay in my car stereo for a while. Love the songs, love her voice, and the production is great. Her voice is out in front like it should be, and the guitar and drums sound great. The production is simple but the sounds vary enough from song to song to keep it interesting.

Wow, did not know about The Lost String. I'll have to hunt that down.
By no means a classic, but I enjoyed watching the recent Eric Claption / Steve Winwood DVD Live at MSG.

Anyone heard anything about this? This is the description on Amazon.com:
13 note-for-note guitar transcriptions from one of alt-rock's most innovative, influential and enduring bands. Songs include: Can't Stand It * Casino Queen * ELT * I Got You (At the End of the Century) * I'm a Wheel * I'm the Man Who Loves You * Impossible Germany * Kamera * Kingpin * The Late Greats * Outtasite (Outta Mind) * Side with the Seeds * Theologians. -
I was at the Jacksonville show, and it was a somewhat contentious situation at a few points. Even Tweedy said from the stage that he wasn't going to take sides.
I was at that show. It got ridiculous. I was standing, but I let the people directly behind me know that if it was a problem, I would sit. Then someone came up to me and told me that they were security and told me to sit down. So I asked to see the head of security and he said that I could stand as long as I was in front of my seat and that the other guy did not work there. I even saw someone complain about me standing to a security guard and he blew them off.
I see the points on both sides, and I don't think it should be that hard for people to navigate this issue. There's probably times to sit and times to stand depending on the song. That said, if you want to sit, you shouldn't be surprised if the people in front of you are standing.

I had fun watching this. This is one of those movies that tries to keep you guessing until the end and actually kept me guessing until the end.
