  1. I am so ready for this show! :stunned

    1. Pre-show meetups anywhere?

    2. This show is happening on record store day, and I'd sure like to know where I can pick up a few items (i.e. new Wilco DVD duh!!! ). Which is the best record store participating?

    3. I'm thinking about Pricelining a hotel, and they ask what section of town? I have no idea!!!

    Thanks for any help!

Can't wait to see/meet a bunch of you guys!

    :dancing

    1. Haven't heard about any, but there are several great bars within walking distance of the Tennessee Theatre, including the aforementioned DG&B, the Bistro, and several bars and restaurants on Market Square. I recommend the Preservation Pub.

    2. The best record store in town is the Disc Exchange on Chapman Highway, and I know they have some events/promotions lined up for record store day.

    3. You will probably want to stay in the downtown/UT campus area. There are nice hotels in West Knoxville and by the airport too, but the venue is downtown. Campus is right next to downtown.

  2. I didn't really appreciate AGIB until I saw the songs live. Up until I saw them on that tour, it hadn't really grown on me despite repeated listenings. After seeing most of the AGIB songs live, it is now one of my favorite albums.

  3. Can someone help me? I somehow didn't know about the Ghost bonus EP until seeing this thread and am listening to it now but can't figure out how to make my computer download the tracks. I am running Vista - is that interfering somehow? I am able to listen to them, but clicking on the arrows (as the instructions say to do to download) is not having any effect on anything. Has anyone had something similar happen? Can anyone help? Thanks.

  4. awesome!

i love that the bat building is in the poster

unrelated- i wonder if they still have the one from 2 years ago...prob not.

I didn't see it on there. They have some old ones on there but I don't think they have that one.

  5. You know what's weird? Nobody took/ripped my wife's or my tickets when we walked in. There was nobody at the front door, and nobody at the inner doors to get into the theater, nowhere. We could have just walked in without tickets and gone right in.

  6. Outstanding show. We just got back from Nashburg.

    Many great moments.

    "Nice jacket, Jeff!"

    "It's not a jacket, it's a suit."

Opening with VC was an interesting choice but they pulled it off. Cameras were everywhere - I was hoping there would be a DVD of that show, but a whole tour DVD would be cool too. Have there been cameras at other shows? I haven't seen anyone comment about them on here.

Just a great, great night. The Ryman is awesome.

  7. What a coincidence - I put the movie in last night and watched it, not realizing people were posting about it here yesterday.

I saw the movie once in the theater when it came out. My wife didn't really know anything about Wilco at the time, so I went to the movie solo.

Then I got the DVD and watched it with her once when it arrived. (She had gotten into Wilco by the time the DVD came out.) I hadn't watched it again until last night. Eerie.

  8. I have one ticket, with "obstructed view"--how bad can it be? :dontgetit

Depends on what is obstructing your view. Some of the "obstructed view" seats are behind columns or poles you can probably lean to see around. But I had an obstructed view seat for the Grand Ole Opry last month that was in a location where due to the angle I could only see the very edge of the stage. Great view of the crowd, no view whatsoever of the performers.

  9. "Can I ask you a question? What's your doll all about? It's a Wilco fan? Oh. OK. I'm sorry. It's... her name's Red Velvet?"

"People are gonna think you're taking acid or something."

"Turn off your computer. Read a book or something."

    Hate It Here
