  1. Check out The Loft on XM radio. They play a ton of Uncle Tupelo, Wilco, and Son Volt as well as a ton of other great alt music.
  2. Wow The Road and No Country for Old Men were both amazin... Gotta love all the visceral details he pours into his books... What a great American author.
  3. "I Can't Remember" -Vigilantes of Love About a man whose wife is killed in a train wreck... Great song " Thin Blue Flame"- Josh Ritter One of the most intense and moving songs I've heard in a long time... "Song Writer (Numb)" - Bill Mallonee Very sad, soul-bearing confession of all his regrets in life. Amazing song and musician. Everyone check this song out. "Goddamn Lonely Love" Drive-By Truckers (Space City is a good one too) "The sun's a desperate star that burns like every single one before" Great tune. Probably already been mentioned but "Tears in Heaven" Eric Clapton "Drink Til' We're
  4. What a great show... certainly worth the 4 hour drive from Mobile. Jesus Etc. sounded particularly good as well as Gun and Sunken Treasure. How did everyone like Jeff's harmonica playing? I thought it sounded fine and really contributed to the song. I don't think anyone has mentioned Jeff's reference to the fan that stormed the stage that he punched out. Right after the crazy woman ran down and asked Jeff to "dedicate" Remember The Mountain Bed to her husband, Jeff said he thought he heard a fan "charging" and put up his fists, only receiving few laughs. Did most people get the joke? Anyway
  5. Hey, I'm doing a folk music presentation for a school project that analyzes the impact of folk music on American Culture. Does anyone know where I can find some good sources on this? The project is on the American Folk movement so I suppose I should start by discussing Woody Guthrie and the like and then move into Dylan, Ochs, Seeger, Baez, etc. Any Ideas? Thanks

I really like the Wilco Book Unreleased version of hummingbird. Its got a really different feel to the whole song with some sync stuff in place of the normal insturments. The lyrics are slightly different, but most of the original lyrics were unchanged on the studio version.
  7. I agree with most of the things written in the article. The Flying Burrito Brothers were definitely a big influence on Wilco.
  8. Hey this was my first Wilco show, and it was truly awesome. After the show I got a setlist that had been taped to the stage and managed to get backstage. I got everyone but Tweedy to sign the setlist because he was on the bus and wasn't feeling well. They were all extremely friendly, especially Patrick and his father. The recording is GREAT... Thanks so much for posting it!
