  1. Waited until mail time...but as of yet I haven't received anything either.

As long as no one is completely blowing it off/forgets...I'm with others...it's kind of fun to get something in January after all the holiday rush. :) January usually needs all the help it can get! :lol

  2. Edie what a wonderful gift in the midst of all this. :love I had a moment like this with my grandpa the day before he died and I know how much it means. I'm wondering how Jake is handling things? My heart goes out to him...grandparents can be such special people in our young lives. Know you all must be feeling his loss terribly though.

    Sending more love and hugs!

  3. Aww, Edie, I'm so terribly sorry. Jerry sounded like an amazing person; my late grandfather served in Italy/Sicily during WWII...who knows if their paths might have crossed? My sincere condolences to his wife/your MIL. Words are inadequate. Please know I'm sending my love and thoughts to you, Jake, and Scott at this beyond difficult time.

Let me know if there's anything you need. :cheekkiss

    May he RIP.

  4. bobfrombob, we we're planning a similar trip last spring (didn't end up happening however) and were looking at City Suites on Belmont Ave (I think) for a short stay. It's around the corner from The Vic. There were a few restaurants within walking distance as well if I remember right. Granted, I don't know a lot about Chicago, so I'm sure others will have more/much better advice, but thought I'd throw that out there. :)

edit: Also, the Club Quarters on Wacker was nice (stayed there over the summer for shows at House of Blues). Rooms are small, but nice for a single/couple...great view of the river and Marina Towers...easy access to several restaurants...though not sure how close to The Vic it is off the top of my head. :hmm

  5. "one size fits all, Poonie"

I haven't received one yet either, Edie :hmm ...don't lose heart though...I know you've been a good kid this year (for the most part).

(I'm not tellin' Santa about the Kauffman nails thing either...so you should be in the clear.) :cheekkiss

  6. Exactly what pookie said. I have resisted telling my mom (she may know by now), as she's going through a rough time right now. I know she'll take it hard. I have a nice memory of sitting at the piano with my mom playing and singing his songs with her as a kid. May he RIP.

  7. Imo's is pure weirdness to me. I like the cracker crust (reminds me of lavosh or something which I love)...but the cheese was a lot like white american or something. Not really pizza. :no

My ideal pizza is thin crust with black olive, tomato, and marinated artichokes...with maybe some pepperoni. I really just like pizza though. Not really too picky.
