  1. The "The Paul" I have played was all brown, bare wood and it had four knobs and a switch. This one didn't have any bad wood blems either. Not sounding like I'm disagreeing, this was just my experience with the only The Paul I've played. you are right. i does have 4. sorry for the miscommunication. it was just from that period of gibson of, what were they thinking? but overall they made some great stuff, when did they not?
  2. what's the main difference between a Les Paul and The Paul, aside from the latter being harder to describe in a sentence? (e.g. I've got this awesome The Paul!) its just a stripped down version of a les paul, naked humbuckers, 2 controls and a switch. almost always black too. i think that they were just the retarded bodies with severe blemishes under the wood, so they gave it a little contour and made it a new model. gibson did some screwy things in those years, but none the less, the one i have played sounded ace as well. cheers. www.afnpmusic.com
  3. Hi there. im new to this forum, and i really like learning about peoples setups and sound logistics. anywho, i was wondering what your favorite electric guitar was. i think it might be interesting. ill give you my top 2...i think... 1. fender telecaster. i have a 15 year old standard and a 34 year old deluxe 2. gibson sg w/lyre vibrola hope this is fun.
  4. its a moog delay. without question. the delay has that "nice " price tag due to 2 reasons. 1. its analog. which to have a 500ms or 1000ms analog delay is unheard of. 2. it has cv. also aka control voltage. anyone who works with synths should be familiar with this. it basically like a precursor to midi. all functions have thier own 1/4'' plug that can control it. now there is a pot in the ernir ball vlume pedals that jeff uses for it. so therefore you can control the variables. he has 3 of them on a plank. one for speed, depth, and tone i believe. this is all is logical, even though it se
  5. the little clip mentioned that they have 10 b3's because they break down. you need back ups. its nice to have a few of something, also because as you can see they used to bring one on the road. they talk about this in the wilco book as well. sean.
  6. if anyone is interested... i just bought a sg special. it is the teal flip flop colour. very similar to jeff's pelham blue. i love that guitar!!!
  7. to answer your question... i have a recording by their guitar tech when they were making yankee. i think it was from sam jones. anyway, he said that they had 168 guitars, about 50 amps, 20 of which were bass amps, and 10 hammond b3 organs. he said that it was close to $500,000. and to tell you the truth, it doesnt seem that out of the ordinary. i am in a small post rock band, just 2 of us, and we are adding up all of our equipment for insurance purposes. we have been collecting equipment now for about 5 years, and we just broke $20,000. yikes. thats a boatload for college kids, you know? i
  8. the pro jr's are some of the best amps available on the moderne market today!!! and they are cheap compared to what you get out of them... go for it.
