It's definitely a grooving tune. I love the inclusion of "Wilco" into the lyrics. I foresee some crowd participation during this one on the Wilco part. I really hope they keep it. Thanks for the upload!

while i hate Pfork too, this is not a great record by Ryan's standards, i'm sorry. it's a very average one by his own standards.
they got it right w/ the new Blitzen Trapper (even though it's closer to a 9 than an 8.5 imo), just lame that it took them over a month to review it
I'm seeing Blitzen Trapper open for Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks tonight in Madison. Great lineup. This is the most excited I've been for an opening act since Andrew Bird/Wilco.

God I hate Pitchfork. Ryan Adams must need a pair of Nike "dunks", or whatever the Pitchfork crowd is relishing in these days.
-
I was told you would need to present an ID at the door, too. I had a friend pick one up for me, so I'm going to give it a shot. I'll wear a Wilco shirt with an Obama pin and plead if I must...

from Rhapsody:
"Cardinology is well-crafted adult alternative rock grounded in Americana ... Although Adams is considered a prickly fellow, this album will cement his rep among the Starbucks faithful."
I can't help but be annoyed by those statements. Not sure why.
I agree. It's annoying because a coffee enterprise and its costumers have no real connection to music.

Yeah, the Union doesn't sound plausible...There was frickin' sleet yesterday. I really hope/think it's indoors.
Barrymore? High Noon? Inside the Capitol????

RUMOR on Muzzle of Bees states: "Rumor has it it will be a daytime show at the Union and free?"

Just finished my first listen through Cardinology. It's epic! Fix It, Crossed Out Name, and Stop are the initial standout tracks. Favorite line thus far: "Confuse my love for the cobwebs" He's done it again. So prolific. I really think this album is one of his best to date. Time for round two...enjoy your listening.

Pat's vests are of much greater importance.

Hell yes! I'm glad I didn't buy a ticket to Atmosphere in MKE...I hope details are available soon.

I wonder what other rock stars posses such powers over their fans? Trey? Brittany? Hannah Montana?
Hannah Montana's demographic is too young to vote...

Thank God I'm an atheist. This thread is pretty entertaining.

Sorry for the duplicate forum. I thought this one could be specific to the song being in the movie. And besides, it's a forum...

madison was rocking. i met ryan before the show at a fair trade coffeehouse. he was singing a song to himself about cappuccino and split some cake with brad. yeah, stalker fan, i know. he called these girls i was with elves...what a man.

Religulous is an exceptional movie. Hilarious, but scary. Bill Maher is the man. Thought I'd let you all know the boys made it. Go see it!

I think that is an old one - he has been re-posting videos as of late. The one with the puppets the other day was up at the blog before also.
Ah, you're right. I'm glad Foggy is back...what a hiatus.
-
Adams' latest Foggy video is about him having a hit. He mentions something about "Wilco in designer clothes." Check it out.
-
I would bet that it his name on the contract only - the guys in the band are just hired hands. I am actually surprised he has not replaced them yet - if one looks at his track record with regards to the people he has had playing with him. As I recall, people were not that crazy about Easy Tiger (much like Sky Blue Sky). It will be interesting to see how the new one goes over.
To Ryan, I think they're more than just "hired hands." Judging by his past Foggy post and push for a band name, being the Cardinals, I think this lineup is here to stay. It's a shame people dislike Easy Tiger. I think it's some of his best work.

So Alive- Ryan Adams

I'm a fan of Genius. I use it in the mornings when I'm stumbling around the house getting ready for school. I hit Weekend Wars by MGMT, and Ratatat and Of Montreal were the subsequent bands. Cool. Has the Genius thrown out anything really wrong at you?
-
Esquire magazine...haha.

I will miss you, Foggy. It was so entertaining and hilarious. Ryan Adams is eccentric, and Foggy provided insight into the mind of a troubled genius. I wonder if it will last. His recent blogs were fun, and he seemed to be enjoying that medium of expression.

The Cardinals have some interesting comments on the events. http://cave.cardinology.com/
I like the Gallagher brothers, and their antics don't really bother me. People are so hard on them, but whatever, Oasis does rock.
