  1. I saw Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks in Minneapolis and this drunk fuck kept heckling the band for Pavement songs and he threw two cans of PBR on stage. One splashed onto some amps. I actually think the dude was trying to hit Malkmus, but he was just too wasted to aim. Not cool. Malkmus didn't seem to even acknowledge the incident.

  2. as much as I don't like Kevin Barnes, he's a pretty smart guy.

what's wrong with a man in makeup? I was indifferent to Of Montreal until I saw them live (I went for MGMT), but I'm sold now. I'm a thespian, and was amazed at what a great spectacle that concert was. He's very much an actor. Georgie Fruit...hahah

  3. Atheist here. I was just sick for two days so I listened to The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. I seriously recommend it to everyone. I'm not saying a man has the answer to the perennial questions, but Dawkins is very insightful.

On a separate note, this girl in my zoology class today was visibly upset by our discussion of evolution. She screamed "Creationism is truth" and ran out. I was hysterical.

  4. Personally, I have never understood Atheism. I can understand someone not brought up in Christianity or religion or any higher power belief system to not believe in God or a god. But eventually, how does one not conclude that SOMETHING beyond our imagination or comprehension is over-seeing or looking upon everything?

Just the fact we exist and can see and can think and can care and taste the sweetness of a strawberry....NO WAY is that all an accident.

The thought of death being final...lights out...nothing....black.....I don't believe it.

Plus, I've always thought that infants or children who lose their life to an accident or disease got totally screwed. I've gotta believe they go somewhere to live life....or maybe they get to come back as Mick Jagger or someone who's got to live an amazing life.

    Mick Jagger is an atheist.

  5. I initially heard the lyric as "this is what happens when 'wings' seperate." I like wings better. Take note, Jeff.

I'm really into this song, and anxious for the studio. NEW WILCO!

  6. I think it's great to bridge generation gaps and merge contrasting acts. As for Wilco opening for Neil Young, that would rock. We don't have to necessarily think of them as the "opener," as I'm sure a lot of people would be in attendance for Wilco. Can bands no longer share a bill? I mean, Willie fucking Nelson was Dylan's "opener," but a ton of fans came out to just see Willie. Obviously, both artists have mutual fans. Let's think of Wilco- if they want to do it, shouldn't we support them? It's not our career, it's not our art. Let the legends of today rock out with their elders while they still can. Seriously, how is this even an argument? You're not forced to go to a show. MMJ opening for Dylan was amazing. The Raconteurs opened for Dylan. Jeff Tweedy was just saying how he would love to model Wilco's career after Young and Dylan. Let the boys share some surreal nights with a great artist.

  7. I feel like John's voice is essential to Wilco. His voice blends exceptionally well to Jeff's unique voice. Favorite vocals of John? I'm going with You Are My Face...Pat has a damn nice set of pipes on him, too. I bet Nels is fooling us all and is really a mute. On a separate note, I'm concluding that Ryan Adams is one of the all-time greatest singers.

  8. I drove from Milwaukee for Radiohead and Wilco and couldn't have had a better experience in Indy. Both bands left me euphoric and proud to be a music lover. This was my 5th Wilco show, and they are only getting better. The new songs are sounding great, and I'm satisfied with the band's direction. Do whatever you want, Wilco. The only bad part about the trip was sleeping in the back of a Subaru with 5 guys in a Wal Mart and an epic storm Via Chicago on the way home.

  9. I'm 19, placing me in the new generation of Wilco fans. I've noticed a lot of the scene relishing "hipster" kids dismiss SBS, and I've heard it called "cheesy" and "cliche." Now that Wilco has achieved popularity and mass appeal, I think the trendy kids are quick to hate. It seems like they only like shit that nobody has heard. I love SBS, and it's simply a beautiful album. It really reveals the virtuosic talents in Wilco. You Are My Face has become my favorite, replacing Impossible Germany. SBS are even better live I feel, and I'm sure the performances have swayed some of the naysayers. I'm so glad Wilco made this album.
