  2. Not really on topic, but Jeff mentioned that he was sounding "a bit froggy" either in Louisville or last night in Atlanta because he was battling a "warm weather cold" (plus nearly three weeks of shows) and I was thinking someone should cut that audio snippet for you...

Beyond my technical skills, but surely somebody can do it when the recording surfaces.

gee, he's still talking about me on stage :lol  love to hear that comment!

  3. Ah, Summerteeth. The one where I fell deep into the Wilco well. All the studio tomfoolery intrigued me (birds chirping! opera samples!) but the lyrics are what cemented it. Sleepy kissers, fragile family trees, cups cracked and hooked. Sigh.

same here, and i happen to be listening to it right now. mermaid avenue got me interested for the woody guthrie content, but Summerteeth was the first full wilco album that got me hooked. and they played When you wake up feeling old when i requested it which was a rarity in 2010!

  4. That would be interesting. Coincidentally I am listening to that right now from the final UT show (the one Jeff mentioned at the show) - has Wilco ever done it? I know way back in the early days they would have Jeff do a solo set during some shows and play UT stuff, but I don't know if the band ever did Gun.

i've love the 29th Oct 1997 version from Minneapolis. that was a full band version. he played it solo on the AM tour, but it has been done with the band

  6. .

I know I don't think Dylan does himself or his audience one single bit of justice really anymore with his live shows. Not sure what his motivations are but I will never understand why he does what he does now live.

he keeps a standard setlist for every show, which means the tunes are polished up and less risk of a train wreck. when i saw him last year, he was the best since 2003, and he got himself a proper piano!
