I 'm really tempted to include Sometimes It Happens on here, but didn't want to go too heavy on cover songs.  The Wilco recording is  beautiful. One Sunday Morning is another contender my for top-10. Secret of the Sea also almost made the list.

  2. Part of the comedy of the show is Susie interacting with commenters and responding to the comments, which could usually provoke an interesting/funny comment or conversation by/with Jeff. That's going to disappear, unless they do the two-phone thing, I didn't care for the comments at first either, but have grown to appreciate them. I pay attention to them during the between-song banter, and minimize them during the songs. In the old format you could still see 2 or 3 or 4 comments when minimized but now you really have to pick one or the other, which is really annoying.

Jeff is really good at grasping what is going on on the screen just by Susie's descriptions. I would have a hard time keeping up with someone describing what's happening on a screen that I can't see, I would have to keep asking to see the phone.

I don't think the video is larger, as some people were saying, I think IG just rounded the borders. But it did look sharper?

Yeah, that was a great idea. Inspired me to do something similar on my own post! ;)

Thanks particularly for your Mazzy Star link! I had not seen that video before, and it may be the best, clearest, up-close video of them out there. I wish there was a whole show like that.

if it hasn't been said yet, Taylor Swift's new record is very good. Mirrorball in particular is fantastic.

I wanted to thank you, Yaz, for putting in all the links, what a great idea. :thumbup  Made it very simple to have a quick listen. The Rosa Agostino song, "By My Side" is gorgeous!

You're very welcome, Donna! Glad you enjoyed some of my selections =)

On the obscure end of the spectrum, I've been haunted by Rosa Agostino aka Red Ghost, a guest singer on the Soulsavers' 2009 album "Broken." She performs the lead vocal on "By My Side" and "Rolling Sky" and she performed her own set as the opening act on the "Broken" tour.  Seems she never got signed and only has a few pieces of her own music out there. I can still listen to those two songs over and over and be mesmerized.

  6. I had totally forgotten about All Lives, You Say? Probably because it hasn't been played live (much/ever?). Would it be fair to call that one a Schmilco outtake, or was it written and recorded after the album?

All Apologies was quite unexpected, and very nice.

  7. Did I hear them saying no show tonight? I thought they were moving to a M-F schedule and taking weekends off, if agreeable to the Clients? I'm not on FB so I don't know what the poll is over there.

  8. Edit:

Speaking of rewatching episodes on Instagram, is anyone able to “scrub” through episodes?

I think I can only push the screen to advance 3 minutes. I tried moving my fingers across the right side of the screen and nothing happens. Maybe I’m not using the latest version.

I think that is just how instagram stories (which are only up for a day) work. As opposed to Instagram videos (which are permanent) which do allow scrubbing? At least, that is my experience too.

So, is "like a broom bent to twist" (whatever that may mean) the official-as-it-gets lyric for Love Like a Wire? It is on the internet on some guitar tabs site, but I think maybe folks (myself included) interpreted it differently. Jeff's enunciation was pretty clear this time.

  9. If You Could Read My Mind was awesome.

"More Money, More Fans" should be the next Wilco/Jeff album title, LOL. The poem should of course be on there ;)

Honestly I think Wilco's audience is right-sized. If 10 million people were tuning in and commenting it would be overwhelming and we wouldn't feel as intimately connected.

  10. May?

    try next May.

Agree. Even if the curve is flattened I don't see any big public events happening this year at all. No sense getting things under control somewhat only to have it blow up again and set us all back however many months or a year. Even early 2021 seems doubtful to me now for shows/sports.

The only show I don't yet want a  refund for is Pearl Jam, just because of how hard it is to get tickets. They can keep me on the list and hold on to my money until 2022 or whenever the show happens.

  11. That is impressive. I usually go to 20-30 shows a year, but there have been months without shows before. And there have been months with 5-6 shows, maybe more. Heck there have been weeks with 4 shows. I will now have to look at my list and see what my longest months' streak is.

I think we can dismiss April 2020 to whenever things open up again in terms of your streak ;)  I mean we're all in the same boat and you're not missing any actual public events.
