  1. There has been a misunderstanding. I was raised rural. I say you all all the time. It did not mean everyone. I apologize.
  2. Thanks to you all for recognizing that I am trying to follow protocol and 'fit in'. Wilco couldn't ask for a better group of core posters. Serious fans like me feel right at home. Goodbye but I'll "still be around".
  3. I sincerely apologize. My mistake. I am not trying to drag anyone any where. People seem to be willingly and happily climbing aboard.
  4. That isn't what i meant. I meant someone saying "dude, that makes sense" about the cancellation being a bad decision. So much for discussing moderators and admins!
  5. True. Correction: I am the only one there (that i know of) that has stated a Wilco preference. Thank you.
  6. Not at all. I am a huge Jay fan. I have never said B.S. about him. I went there in August '04 after a Jay and Mark Spencer gig. I encountered some nice folks andd made some friends, voila, I am trapped!!
  7. Yes. I am the only one there preferring Wilco/Tweedy to Son Volt/Farrar.
  8. You can't be serious. If that is true, then there was no need to add this: "This one looks way too risky for you to get tickets". At least own up to your intent. I do.
  9. Thanks again for proving me right. I responded with a sincere, well thought out post and look at the replies.
  10. You know what? I tried to follow board protocol, be a decent guy, unlike some of you high post count folks, and not threadjack. After I hit submit it hit me that it wasn't the right place for it and knew that one of you nice, kind folks would point it out. Gee, thanks. The other board I mentioned also doesn't have different areas. there is only 1. I apologize. I am sincerely trying to follow the rules. Some of you all seem to need PMs from a moderator. I did not say that I didn't like moderators. I obviously can deal with it as evidenced by my actions. I am truly interested in it and am shar
  11. platiceyedude, you are clearly calling me out. I will respond. Just remember that I didn't start this threadjack. I would NEVER travel to a Pogues show due to the likelihood of cancellation. I accept cancellations for illness, family emergency and too drunk and/or drugged to perform. Anything that actually will prevent the band from performing whole is totally acceptable for cancellation. Playing another show because you find it to be somehow better for you is not. Plain and simple. How that logic escapes so many, is beyond me.
  12. I wanted to reply to cryptique but I didn't want to threadjack. "As for banning people who criticize the band, that has never happened here. Everyone is free to express their opinions. It's only when those expressions become abusive or otherwise drag down the level of discourse to an unacceptable level that those members run afoul of the moderators. I love that this board has moderators who are actually present and engaged in the discussions. They help to keep things from spiraling out of control. I've been on other boards that are barely moderated (or unmoderated), and most of them are u
  13. Thank you. Jaysus! 3 administrators and many moderators. It must be quite important here. Not trying to threadjack. Sorry.
  14. Wow! I hadn't heard this this. I hope to see them. Me and my buddies were heavily into the Pogues way back when. We always referred to MacGowan as the ugliest man in show business and would always try to find a worthy contender. We always failed.
  15. How many moderators are there? I am only amazed because I have spent embarassing amounts of time and have a shameful amount of posts on a musician's board that has no moderator. The whole moderator idea is, therefore, odd to me. This is the first time I have ever realized that they exist here. No judgement being made about it, though.
  16. Maybe a moderator can look into it. My wife is a huge fan and also uses my computer. I wouldn't want her to jam me up.
  17. They haven't been to Tampa since February 2005 or down in F L A since March of 2006. Way over due. Thank you in advance! I am ready.
  18. I hate Wilco fans that require copy editors due to their lack of spelling knowledge.
  19. You have to admit that this was a witty post, no matter your view on moderators.
  20. For the record, pookie, I am not angry. I just am a principled person. When it comes to my principles, I am as Calexico, the boarder not the band, says "like a dog with a bone". As I have promised to GoGo and Ms. Yvon, I am finished with the SNL episode. I won't even respond to name calling or personal insults. So I leave you to it!!
  21. I do not consider this a violation of my above promise to let it go, mainly because i just now saw this. If that is true, then why did you not post it?????
  22. Gee thanks, Mom Gogo (I couldn't resist). Analogman, I truly appreciate your post. Thanks for being civil, like I have been. It sucks that it took 12 years for you to finally see them. I saw them open for the Jayhawks in Tampa on the AM tour (what a double bill), then for Sheryl Crow in Tampa in 1996. Many of my students were there to see crow and were complaing the next day about that 'shit band that opened'! Then they did an amazing, extra-long show as headliners in 1999 in St. Pete. Then I had the bug and started thinking about traveling. But I digress. "Would I be raising hell if I had s
  23. See above, in casae you missed it.
  24. I am still looking for affordable tickets but I am still hoping to be there. 10 hours is more than 7 but that's what I do for my favorite band. It'll be fun to meet up. I always enjoy it. Fingers crossed.
  25. Thank you, Marc. Looking good in Tony's eyes is certainly important. I understand it all now.
