It's amazing what a good pitchfork review can do for a band, huh? I'd agree that the hype is a little thick, but I still like the album. Sort of like Band of Horses, though, a new band comes out with a good album, people catch on, it gets good reviews, and it gets hyped to the moon.

Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon

My favorite performances at Lolla: 1. Wilco 2. The Hold Steady 3. Calexico 4. The Flaming Lips 5. My Morning Jacket Having never seen them before, Calexico really surprised me. The trumpets were simply amazing, and Joey Burns sounded great. And "All Systems Red" was incredible, even with a few technical difficulties. Definitely the song of the year so far.

Did anyone else see these guys at Lollapalooza? They definitely lived up to their reputation of being a great live rock band. The songs they played off their upcoming album sounded great (there's a lot of positive buzz about the album). After seeing them I immediately ordered tickets to see them at the Metro in October.
