1 ticket for MPP - standing room in front of the stage!
IcculusDC replied to doctoroflaws's topic in Got Extras?
For anyone considering these tickets -- the GA pit at MPP is a GREAT location to see a show. If you want to move up you can get very close to the band and if you want there is space in the back of the GA section to move around and see the band from different viewpoints. -
Jeff Tweedy at the Lincoln Theatre, Washington DC, 7 Dec 2010
IcculusDC replied to yohansen5b's topic in After The Show
I loved Acuff Rose as well and it was defnitely the highlight. Also was really, really, psyched to hear Through My Window Sad and Lonely. In absolutely love that tune and thought I might not ever hear it performed live as Wilco does not play it too often. Thought it was pretty well played considering they probably don't play it together all too often. Pieholden was also a nice surprise, and I love Mountain Bed in any form. Not a big fan of Impossible Germany solo acoustic. The only reason to hear that song is Nel's solo and obviously that was absent. Tweedy made a funny comment that "I -

What's the consensus on Wilco (The Album)?
IcculusDC replied to Shining Sunbeam's topic in Just A Fan
I agree on Wilco (the song) -- just doesn't seem to fit to me. Album is okay as far as Wilco goes -- which makes it better than 95% of other records out there. Outside of a few songs it just doesn't beg me to listen to it over and over. Country Disappeared/One Wing/Deeper Down are my faves. You Never Know = my least favorite Wilco song. Seeing it live didn't help -- actually it made me hate it more. -
Country Disappeared is full of great Tweedy lyrics: When the cold night shakes you like a chandelier The snowflakes break through the atmosphere, and melt on the blue breath of the auctioneers and disappear.

Me too. The only recent tv appearance that I enjoyed.

After One Wing and Deeper Down probably my next favorite on the album. Great example of sparse but beautiful playing by the rhythym section on the studio cut. The funny thing is I could not stand it the first few times I listened to it. The phrasing of the lyrics on the verses is very interesting as well.
