  1. For anyone considering these tickets -- the GA pit at MPP is a GREAT location to see a show. If you want to move up you can get very close to the band and if you want there is space in the back of the GA section to move around and see the band from different viewpoints.
  2. I loved Acuff Rose as well and it was defnitely the highlight. Also was really, really, psyched to hear Through My Window Sad and Lonely. In absolutely love that tune and thought I might not ever hear it performed live as Wilco does not play it too often. Thought it was pretty well played considering they probably don't play it together all too often. Pieholden was also a nice surprise, and I love Mountain Bed in any form. Not a big fan of Impossible Germany solo acoustic. The only reason to hear that song is Nel's solo and obviously that was absent. Tweedy made a funny comment that "I
  3. Looking for 1 or 2 tickets to the Tweedy solo show at Lincoln theater on 12/7 Thanks in advance for any help.
  4. Bump again. One week out...someone's gotta have some tix!
  5. Bump. Will take just one if that is all you have.
  6. Bump...someone out there has to have extra tickets. Seeing Wilco would be the perfect way to spend my birthday!
  7. Looking for two tickets to the Bethesda, MD Strathmore show. 3/30 is my birthday so I would love to go to this show.
  8. I agree on Wilco (the song) -- just doesn't seem to fit to me. Album is okay as far as Wilco goes -- which makes it better than 95% of other records out there. Outside of a few songs it just doesn't beg me to listen to it over and over. Country Disappeared/One Wing/Deeper Down are my faves. You Never Know = my least favorite Wilco song. Seeing it live didn't help -- actually it made me hate it more.
  9. Country Disappeared is full of great Tweedy lyrics: When the cold night shakes you like a chandelier The snowflakes break through the atmosphere, and melt on the blue breath of the auctioneers and disappear.
  10. Me too. The only recent tv appearance that I enjoyed.
  11. After One Wing and Deeper Down probably my next favorite on the album. Great example of sparse but beautiful playing by the rhythym section on the studio cut. The funny thing is I could not stand it the first few times I listened to it. The phrasing of the lyrics on the verses is very interesting as well.
  12. I mentioned a similar point in the Wolftrap thread. The band plays to many shows and has way to much material to draw from to have the setlists be so stale and predictable. It would also make the regulars much more fun when they did play them.
  13. That was awesome -- a buddy and I were about 20 rows back on Nels side and we both made that comment that the guy in the front row that Jeff let strum the guitar was doing a helluva a job!
  14. I agree on the setlist being generic. This is the major complaint I have with Wilco in general. I have seen them 6 or 7 times and I am getting a little tired of seeing many of the same songs over and over. Their catalog is big enough and they tour enough that I think they can provide some more variety. There are some great, great tunes that are not in the rotation enough and I wonder why they feel inclined to play some of the same songs at every show(even though they are great--spreading them out a little bit would make it more exciting) That being said they put on a very enjoyable show.
  15. Really? Not even one song? A passage in one song? A lick here or there? I assume this is exaggeration.
  16. Haven't really listened to the album enough to give it my final judgement, but I will say that the album is much better produced that SBS. There are a lot of interesting things I pick up with each listen. One Wing, Deeper Down, Bull Black Nova are obvious standouts. Last few listens have been loving the understated piano and guitar rhythym section on Country Disappeared--the chord progression on that song is beautiful. Also -- there is a real nice interplay btw, Tweedy and Nels on I'll Fight around 3:15 with he lead in to the final verse -- frickin' love that. Overall I think there a
  17. Only listened to the album a few times but personally it is my least favorite song on the album. "You Never Know" is just boring to me--maybe it will grow on me but I doubt it.
  18. Agree wholeheartedly. The two soundchecks (Ashes and Wishful Thinking) are spectacular. Most of the rest is just -- ehhh.
  19. Thanks for posting Analogman -- really enjoyed reading that.
  20. 1. Poor Places 2. You Are My Face 3. Hummingbird
  21. Good point. Couldn't agree more.
