  1. LOL...caught that -- I mean how could you not it was way out That was going to be a kick a$$ riff.. WOW- -- not out of tune now. He is rocking tonight!!
  2. Even not being a fan of 77 have you heard the 2nd set Sugaree from 5.3.77---WOW! Unbelievable version. The jam goes to another level that this song rarely ever was taken by the band. Ganz played an unrealeased soundboard from this show last Saturday on the Marathon and it was great.
  3. Speaking of the Dead -- Nugs.net is currently streaming David Gans' Greatful Dead Marathon to raise money for KPFA's annual fund drive. He has been playing some great stuff. It runs until 1 am PST.
  4. Love me some Mingus!!! One of the greatest Jazz--hell any album -- of all time!
  5. The guitar solo on the studio version of I Got You knocks me out -- great solo.

    9:30 !

If you did not get tickets I would suggest posting on here and craigslist, be patient, and persistent. I ended up getting a ticket for about 10 bucks over face a week before the show last year. If I would have waited until the day of the show I got an offer at at face value by someone who had something come up at the last minute and could not go. Things come up last minute and people end up not being able to go or a friend cancels on them, etc. With two show this year there should be more tickets out there. It is frustrating how quick they disappear once they go on sale, but this is a v
  7. I snagged 2 for Wednesday as well No luck getting Tuesday but one of the two will be enough.
  8. So much for presale. Those were gone within a minute or two.
  9. DC will probably sell out in no time flat. Last year when they played 9:30 it sold out in 20 minutes or so. It was very difficult to find tickets.
  10. That is funny and sad at the same time. I will give him credit for being honest about his ignorance.
  11. LOL...I love Nashville Skyline. Who can go wrong with Charlie Daniels playing bass and Johnny Cash sitting in for a tune?
  12. And finishing off with Outtasite Outtamind...same way they ended at ACL...what a rocking way to end a show!Wow this version is on fire!!!
  13. how about 3 AM tunes!! What's next? That's not the issue???
  14. This show is rockin' so far!! Nice mix of material from all albums and they seem to playing with great energy.
  15. Wow -- great solo by Nels in Germany! Took it to the next level Holy shit! Bringin' out the old stuff -- Just that Simple!
  16. YES...YES...YES!!! Awesome set -- best performance of the festival. I had the most fun at Wilco but Muse was just amazing -- and going into it I was not a big fan but they blew us away. Of course this is coming from someone who thought the Artic Monkeys rocked (their rhythym section makes the band--of course this is coming form a bassist
  17. Festival was awesome. Wilco started "slow" but slowly but surely they caught fire...ITHMYLY to the end rocked. Gotan Project stole the show on Friday. Arctic Monkeys and Muse rocked our faces off on Sat. Didn't get to MMJ but Wilco was a blast. Preservation Hall Jazz Band was a lot of fun. Dylan--well---his band was great---but...I will reserve comment on his singing voice. (I LOVE Dylan but that was painful) Weather -- hot but overall clear and sunny. People -- hard to say. A mix of a lot of diiferent types but overall everyone was very respectful and into the music--for
  18. So...where's the ticket drop for tomorrow's ACL taping??
  19. I am with you here. Unfortunately every year ACL schedules two bands at the same time that I want to see. If I can see Wilco at Stubbs then I can catch some of My Morning Jacket at the festival and still get to see Wilco Saturday night.
  20. Depends how much moving around you plan to do or if you have kids with you. If you are constantly moving from stage to stage I would not bring chairs. I don't think chairs are neccessary as you an always sit in the grass or hit the ATT tent to sit down and get out of the sun.
  21. I'll second that. Just got back from two weeks in Italy and the Italians were very friendly. Their country lives on tourism and they are used to to dealing with people from other coutries being around all of the time. They key is to learn a little Italian and at at least make an effort to "speak"/hack their language And as far as the traffic in Rome -- it is definitely crazy. I found it helpful to look into on coming traffic as you cross the street so they know that you are crossing and are aware of your surroundings. They will definitely not just blatantly run you over. A funny thing hap
  22. I'll second you on "Doin' that Rag". A really well crafted, catchy tune. I am also a big fan of Two from the Vault recorded live over two shows in '68. Garcia rips all over the place. Awesome, raw, psychedlic jamming.
