Did anyone record this? I missed it last night and really want to hear it now! Anyone....anyone....

I can't stop listening.... Country Disappeared is really the only song that falls flat although there are aspect of the George Harrison number that make me scractch my head. Other then that I can't stop listening as this just sounds like more of a complete album then SBS and it feels good to be done with SBS.

I've been listening to this continuously for hours now and it really is starting to grow on me. And yes I don't like SBS and that doesn't make me a bad person There are just some amazing lyrics on this album and hey Wilco will love you, baby!

Why does "You Never Know" feel like 70's album rock? Not a bad thing necessarily just odd and there was that same 70's rock vibe on SBS.

Um thanks for the "heated" response but I have been around long enough to know old vs new Wilco and what this band is like now. Wilco began evolving into an experimental band during the Being There days but of course they were still in that alt country phase. SBS always seemed like a progression from the AM, Being there alt country days and that to me was odd seeing that they are a collection of experimental musicians. I mean I have sat through a Nels show in which he sang through the pickups on his guitar for 12 minutes. The sound was undoubtly different then the previous 3 albums for SBS.

I have now given this one full listen and will go through it many more times but my overall feeling is Wilco is just a very different band these days. While there are some nice songs on here, the immediacy and mystery of Ghost and Yankee and even the lyrics of Summerteeth are gone. Personally I still don't like SBS and it was the first wilco album where there are just some bad songs on there (You are my face and Side with the Seeds are the best). So far I feel that Bull Black Nova is the most exciting and interesting song, You and I and Solitaire are beautiful songs, deeper down has some great

It seems that most everyone on this board is in love with this new album. I don't think it is bad and in some places I think it is amazing. However, I just can't shake the feeling that there are many parts of this album that sound more like a side project. They sound like the more serious clean side of the last loose fur album. The album lacks teeth and the kind of sonic ruminations that have invaded all spaces of at least the last two albums. I do think that You Are My Face is one of the best songs they have ever recorded. I listened to the album 3 times last night. Some stuff I loved and some other stuff I am not sure about yet. I woke up this morning and am fiending for it. I think I loved it even more than I realized. I can't wait to buy this album but in the meantime can any one help me out? does any one got it? I am starting to get the shakes...
