    Bonnaroo

    is anyone capturing this?
  2. how often does Wilco play this song live?
  3. i'm curious as to how you all interpret this song. this song is one of my favorite Wilco songs ever, and i'm not even quite sure on the lyrics. every time i listen to it, i get different images of a person who has lost touch with reality. the lyrics are so creative, and the music is just so beautiful: from the opening bird chirps and guitar licks, to the repeat chords at the end. it's just so relaxing. Like a cloud his fingers explode On the typewriter ribbon, the shadow grows His heart's in a bowl behind the bank And every evening when he get home To make his supper and eat it alone

    being there

thanks for all the great posts. glad to see some other fellow Being There lovers. "drunken weekend" is a neat way to put it. random note: how fucking cool is it when dreamer falls apart at the end, and then just comes back together to continue rocking? awesome stuff. forget the flowers is beautiful

    being there

it's just such an innocent, raw, and creative album all at the same time. it's fun rock music, but the music still has so many interesting and unique chord changes and melodies that you can't help but become hooked and say "wow that's awesome"

    being there

honestly, is there anything like being there? i've been listening to it non-stop for the last week. it's so rockin, it's got country, it's got bluegrass, it's got harder kinds of rock, softer kinds of rock, and most of all, it has such innocent and fun lyrics written by Tweedy. but what i really wanted to discuss is that don't you guys think that Being There is the best Wilco album to give someone who is just getting into them? i know for sure that after i heard Being There, i knew Wilco was a fuckin awesome band. i forsee myself giving the album as a gift to many people in the near future.
  10. thanks a LOT man. that helped a ton. much thanks.
  11. so for my writing class, we were given the assignment of just writing a comparison/constrating essay. we could pick our own topics, so i really wanted to do Wilco. i started writing my essay on YHF and SBS. the three main areas i'm comparing and contrasting are Tweedy's songwriting, the guitar work done throughout both albums, and the studio production of each album. can you guys help give me some ideas and key points i should make sure to throw in there? not saying write the essay for me, but it would be nice to get some insight from others on how the albums are similar or differ. thanks.
  12. man that was a great album. sky blue sky (the track) is very old-school wilco. very folky
  13. glad u enjoyed my mom's quote about the eagles haha.. this stiuff is all really great, but i also realized that this album, like all wilco albums, will require a bunch of listens to fully appreciate it. now way you can notice everything on the first listen. i can't wait to listen multiple times
  14. that solo part of impossible germany was amazing. my mother walked in and said "is that the eagles?" hahahah pretty funny she made that connection. it was a very eagles-esque song
