i love this album, especially the song "Flightless Bird, American Mouth". I'm not sure I know what the song's about though. Any ideas?

You are my face has some of the best lyrics Jeffs ever written

if someone wants to explain flac to me ill do it. ive spent hours trying to figure it out but cant, maybe b/c i have a mac.
-
anyone have an mp3 of them doing this one? I dont do FLAC and I really want to hear their version of this tune

One thing I haven't figured out, what's the big deal with Too Far Apart? Members here seem to be going nuts over the band playing it lately, is it just the rarety? It's on okay song, but not really one of the stronger cuts from A.M., IMHO.
It's just sp much more rocking live; Jeffs sings it an octave higher, Nels tears it up. It was one of the highlights of the Berkekley show for me.

I remember me by silver jews is ultra sad but it doesnt really have a sad tone at all.
I love that song; Death of an Heir of Sorrows is also a great sad song

Nels is very accomplished at the instrument. Hendrix reinvented the intsrument.
Whether you like Henrix or not, he can't be overrated since he's the "rated" that everyone else on rock guitar is compared to.
Nels is way more than "accomplished". He's innovative and ground-breaking, just not on the same scale as Hendrix.

AWESOME. When will we know exactly what time Jeff's playing?

this was my first wilco show and the best three hours of my life. i was standing in the very front row and getting to experience their music like that was amazing. highlights for me were Too Far Apart, Shot in the Arm and Misunderstood (although all the new material was incredible also). It was also pretty cool when Jeff got rid of that guy's hat.
-
does anyone remember/ have the full setlist? By the way, this show was beyond incredible; the best three hours of my life. When they played Too Far Apart it was better than sex.

happy b-day and thanks for the incredible show last night

I just read that they covered it in quebec in 2005. I love this song and want to hear Wilco's take on it. Anyone have an MP3?

what is all this shit about tweedy's lyrics? so many reviewers seem to be so impartial or condescending toward Jeff's lyrics. this is ridiculous. Jeff's words have always been one of if not THE best thing about Wilco. IATTBYH, Via Chicago, Misunderstood, She's a Jar, Jesus Etc. You can't look at the words in these songs and dismiss Jeff as a songwriter.

I think they'll get restless before long and start throwing in older tunes--im hoping for some Reservations and maybe BT stuff when they come to Berkeley. Also I wouldn't be able to help feeling bummed if they didn't play Via Chicago, although it seems they're still playing that pretty often.

He's sucha badass too with his windmills and throwing morracas

I love both of these songs too. I love the last time Jeff sings I'm always in looooveee and his voice hits that high note. Live versions of this song always dissapoint me because I've never heard him really nail that last note. His voice has been sounding great lately so I'm sure its well within his range. ELT rocks also. God, Summerteeth is such a great album. just one awesome song after another.

I think it ranks somewhere below "It's Just That Simple" and slightly above "My Darling."
so your saying it's a great song?

Sister Ray and Oh! Sweet Nuthin would rock
-
I doubt that they'd hold up a show for this.
maybe jeff can just give some really long banter to open the show. he has plenty of funny stories to tell.

They used this tune as the theme for the section where people get to call in and ask questions. I find it interesting and kind of cool that songs from A.M. are getting all this love. It's like one of those movies like Office Space or The Dark Crystal that go unnoticed upon release but become cult classics years later.
