  1. i replied to the email but i haven't gotten any sort of confirmation and the my "order status" makes it look like I'm just getting the cd. are you guys getting any kind of aknowledgement of your update to the dvd package? all you had to do was reply to the e-mail, right?

  2. i love alt country Wilco (and Uncle Tupelo) as much as the next man, i just think the song is a pivotal point in Wilco's growth.

  3. to me, the ending jam of this song is the sound of Wilco leaving the limitations of Alt-Country behind and turning into the great band that they are now.

  4. you know those moments when your reading a great book or seeing a great movie or hearing great music and you actually shiver because its so moving? I had one of those listening to this album.

  5. I am truly blown away by this album. There were plenty of skepticism leading up to this album and I really truly think Wilco has done it again. All of the songs we didn't hear live are great and all the ones we did hear live have improved. The musicianship on this album is absolutely amazing. No one is mediocre at all, everyone serves the song and floruishes when they need to. People thought Nels might not translate well onto record but he is absoutely amazing throughout the album and the solos on Sky Blue Sky and Be Patient Please are my favoruites. What Light is my favourite and has been since the begining and we will all be singing along with it at the end of shows. On and On and On is a great song now and a perfect closer. All in all I could not be more pleased with this album.

i agree 100%. The lyrics are also beautiful. some people are getting turned off by tweedy's deceptively simple lyrics but there's a lot going on in these songs. i resent the notion that What Light is corny; i think it puts a very unique and beautiful spin on a tried-and-true theme. On and On and On is a lovely summation of what I think is one of WIlco's central philosophies: "Please dont cry. We were designed to die."

  6. noah's post didn't say that YHF wasn't "remarkable" on the first listen. I think it was merely pointing out that the full treasures of YHF took several subsequent listens to fully appreciate. That's the mark of a great album anyway -- that it's still giving you more, or you're still getting more out of it, even after listening to it many times.

    yeah!
